Judith: So this is what Vince must have been feeling… look pal, I’m having a shitty night, I don’t fucking want you here. I am a dangerous person and I will demonstrate how much so if you don’t, fuck right off. 

Borson: Shut your mouth, you petulant child and pay close attention. I know what you are, vampire.

Elita: That got Judith’s attention…

Judith: What?

Borson: I know what vampires are, and if you’re here now, then that means that the sanctity of this place is now tarnished, but you, you are not like other vampires. I know you're struggling with your humanity. 

Judith: You don’t know shit.

Borson: Most vampires would have not dared, speak to me like you did. Your senses are clearly dulled by internal conflict.You are strong and… remarkably… you’re of my bloodline, but clearly corrupted into this beast before me. So I want to make you an offer since fate has brought us so. 

Judith: I don’t want anything…

Borson: You haven’t heard my generous proposal. I will offer you sanctuary with me, I will supply you with enough blood to keep you fed, till a cure can be effected.

Judith: That… that’s not possible.

Borson: For most, it isn’t. But for you, it is possible. You have a wonderful ancestry child that dates back to the Genesis Wars themselves, YOU, can be cured. And your brother has the means to do it.

Judith: I don’t need curing! I’m not sick. This is a gift!

Borson: Is it a gift to end the lives of others? A gift to live in a world of darkness? 

Judith: I don’t age. I like that part. 

Meet Borson, the beast executive who was formerly in charge of Everbay Coast.

He was strong and fast, which was pretty impressive in its own right. But Borson was also able to fight with those special shells wrapped around his waist, which made him quite the formidable opponent.

Most of the Beast Pack members loved hanging out with him, especially the Buffahorn. And Borson was really nice to them and would often share whatever food he found with them.

Elita: The slap rang out clear across the thick fog of cigar smoke in the room, so much so one of the waitresses stopped in her tracks and looked over.

Waitress: Excuse me, is there some problem over there? If there’s any more disruption I’ll have to call the cops.

Elita: It took a moment for Borson’s faculties to come back online and for his mouth to start moving again.

Borson: Yes, all ok. Just catching up with an old acquaintance. Isn’t that right Azura? Lots of history here.

Azura: Lots of loss, you know… his whole family was torn to shreds by “beasts” and his pack of dogs were the cause. The poor old man has lost his faculties, Miss. He’ll just be leaving now after I gave him a little smack. It was merely to remind him *she pokes him in the chest with emphasis*  that he should remember his place. He’s still a loser, just like he was ages ago. Now he’s just a sour puss one. Go away old man before I give you more reminders of what I can do to this place and to you.

Dream: That took some guts! She would have never been so bold back when these two titans first met. Interesting! However, “Borson” was correct in every regard. If Azura thought she was on the losing end for one second, she’d break her “Kaney-kins” in two and move on. Azura is nothing if not a survivor.

Dream: Bornson fumed, but held back his words as she made faces at him like a bratty child. The girl was cracked back then and now moreso.  The cost of the innocent lives in the room was not one he was willing to take. She’d won this round, reminding him of his losses. It was clear that Kane was lost and the rest was pointless as he sensed another old acquaintance in the area. He shook his head, he’d have to find a new place to drink and smoke… this one felt tainted now.

Kane: Have a pleasant evening Mr Fatherall. Thank-you for dropping by. Oh! And if I hear anything about your staff member, I’ll have one of my people call you.

Azura giggled: See I told you. He’s got nothing and he’s running away. You’ve got all the power my sweet Kaney-kins! We can keep having fun!

Elita: Borson left. His jaw aching and his flesh stinging. 

Kane: Might want to ice that Borson.

Borson: Regrettably, I have neither the time nor inclination to debate with you, and certainly no desire to fight. 

Judith: What… are you… doing… to me…?

Borson: I’m helping you. You aren’t completely dead, you vampires, but dead enough. That means my powers work on you to a point. So to accelerate this conversation to its logical end, I am going to help fan the embers of your humanity into a bigger fire. I know that you will come right in the end, and in fact you’re going to be a war hero young lady…

Judith: I don’t… want… your… help…

Elita: Judith collapsed to her knees. Borson didn’t hurt her, but the niggling doubts and disquiet of her wicked deeds were now louder than ever. He said he’d help her… but to her it didn’t feel like any help at all.

Judith: Why did you do that?

Borson: You feel that? Guilt? Regret? Shame?

Judith: I should kill you…

Borson: We both know you can’t do that. But we also know that even if you could, you wouldn’t because it's wrong. Now you know right and wrong again. You’re welcome. It’s not a cure, but it's a start. Nice tats, by the way.

Judith: I hate them…

Borson: You’ll get rid of them not to worry. Curing you is a 3 part process, I’ve done the soul, you’ll need a Dreamwalker to do the mind, luckily, you know one, and your brother can do the body. Have a pleasant evening Judith. I’m going to talk to your boss.

Judith: She’s dangerous. 

Borson: I am aware just how much. Thank-you for the warning. Don’t look so sad, there are better days ahead. You could just go home, right now. 

Judith: I can’t… I can’t face them. I’m scared I’ll… hurt them. Or try to.

Borson: In good time. I’m afraid Judith, if you have any more evil plans to conduct they shall be a lot harder to do now. 

Judith: What’s the catch for all this? This so called “help” and this cure you speak of? Not that I want any of it…

Elita: In the heart of downtown San Myshuno one particularly tired gentleman was wanting a good nightcap, and maybe the company of a sophisticated lady too perhaps? Borson Fatherall, walked assuredly to the bar, one of his favourite haunts. Borson loved the different blends available here, from whiskey’s, rums, brandy’s, ports, the list was endless.

Elita: As he rounded the corner, he was confronted with an interesting situation. Something that had never happened before to him. Conversely, Judith, after tormenting the poor detective, now it seems, frequents cigar bars. Judith smoked a little during her teen years, pre vampire but these days she wasn’t really one for it, so other reasons had her there… 

Borson: Well, this is a surprise. There was me thinking that I was the only one with a missing eye. 

Judith: I’m sure you’ve waited years to use that on somebody. Now that you have that’s one more thing to tick off the bucket list, huh old timer?

Borson: *Chuckles* Sarcasm is the recourse of witless individuals.

Judith: I’m not witless, you’re just not worth using the good stuff on, cyclops. 

Borson: That’s more like it.

Judith: While this has been lovely, you best go inside old man, where it’s warm.

Borson: I come from a place where it’s always cold. May I join you?

Judith: No. I’m having a quiet drink alone, fuck off.

Borson: I think your interpretation of the situation is rather optimistic and doesn’t confront the less palatable realities of your station here.

Judith: Um, what the fuck does that mean?

Borson: You’re on duty my dear. 

Elita: Then as fearless as you like, Borson strutted up to Kane and Azura. The enigmatic Borson who had not long ago put Senator Moriarty in his place was now fixing to do the same thing again but with the evil at this table it was a tall order.

Borson: Kane, and Azura, I might have a moment of your time. I don’t have an appointment, but this won’t take long.

Dream: Azura looked up and recognition flared up in her eyes and a small bit of a fear, a face she’d not seen in a very long time looked down at her. She wasn’t smiling anymore, it seems she knew more than well that “Borson” was about to try to ruin all of her fun.

Elita: Kane rose to his feet annoyed that his evening of cigars and excessive alcohol consumption had been ruined. Azura got up slowly and carefully, she didn’t take her piercing eyes off of Borson for a second.

Kane: Mr Borson Fatherall as I live and breathe. What can I help you with?

Borson: You can start by telling me what happened to my employee. 

Kane: Borson, how the hell would I know what happened to your employee? What has your staffing matters got to do with me?

Borson: Must you insult my intelligence? My birds know of your “operation” and I don’t approve. I know my employee is now your employee and I know she’s like her. She was a sweet girl and I am extremely angry.

Kane: I’m sorry to hear that Borson, but, I’m afraid I couldn’t care less about you, or your so-called “sweet girl.” Besides, if she is working for me, she’s earning more than you ever paid her.

Azura: You. You died. If you think threats will change anything, I would think again. You should go back to being dead. Things were better when you were dead.

Borson: It’s amazing what you can accomplish in a moment of desperation as you slide down the gullet of a giant beast. I imagine you’ve had plenty of -things- down your gullet as well Azura. 

Azura (silly mode): Meanie, you’re still so mean as always. Poor thing, didn’t get to eat its snack. No wonder it was so hungry after the battle. Then mean old Gargareans and their ugly Amazon women killed it… Poor baby. I liked that creature. He was sweet and vicious.

Borson: I’m sure you did, it was even less intelligent than you are if such a thing is possible. The years have not been kind to your mind Azura. 

Azura: I don’t like you. You’re not going to stop us. We’re having lots of fun and I won’t let you ruin it. My new Kane is better than anyone. He’s the best. 

Kane: Mr Fatherall, my partner and I were enjoying some of the finer things and you’ve ruined it with your wild accusations and ridiculous talk. 

Elita: Azura laughed heartily at Borson. This was like the old days, a real trip so far down memory lane, almost back to the start of the lane. 

Azura: Oh you’re so funny Mr Allfather. You say such funny things, our empire is very safe and we have lots of fun and drugs more than enough. Maybe you should have some fun now and stop worrying about your silly dead family. Care to sample our product? Maybe it will help you be less of a meanie.

Borson: Heed my words boy and heed them well, this creature will be your undoing and maybe even your demise, the last man called Cain paid a hefty price over her. She and her former lover almost killed the whole world. 

Azura: Silly Mr Allfather, you tried to kill me and my sweet Ambro once and couldn’t do it, we’re too strong. Do you remember how I ripped Baldy to pieces? He looked so pretty hanging in that stupid tree with all the blood dripping down the tree. Besides, we’re not killing the world now, that was my Ambro’s thing and boring. Kane and I are going to rule the world with my Jure’s new products. It'll be easy!

Borson: You hear that? If you think this thing loves you, you’re even more stupid than you look. 

Kane: Dude, what the actual fuck is wrong with you, everybody is staring at us!

Elita: Azura was amused greatly by the fluster in Borson’s voice. She stood giggling like a silly schoolgirl. 

Borson: I’ve warned you, your empire will burn.

Kane: Borson, with all due respect, which is none at this point. My Empire is very well protected. I have my snookums…

Azura: That’s right. He does. I’ll tear anyone who threatens him to shreds and dance in their entrails. 

Kane: I have security, I have a lot of insurance. The Moriarty’s sent thugs to intimidate and hurt me, it didn’t go well - for them! So if you’re threatening me, then… save your breath. Now, let me buy you a drink so you can settle down.

Borson: You are a fool Kane Fredrickson, a complete and utter fool. Your entire family has rejected you. Even your sister whom you shared a womb with rejected you. You’re a laughing stock and that’s all you’ll ever be.

Elita: Azura had heard enough, she stepped forward and slapped Borson Fatherall across his face. I don’t think anybody can appreciate just how strong Azura actually is, she’s ancient and powerful. Quite frankly, Borson is very lucky to have his jaw still attached to his face and that… that wasn’t even her best shot! Far from it. Kane of course found it hilarious… 

Elita: Jack Moriarty skirted the line between politician and crime boss at the best of times. Right now he was starting to shift to his crime boss mode, and the smiling amenable politician was beginning to rescind. Stella Montgomery had once again caused him problems, she had first stabbed him in the back and ruined his plan with Smythe to build a drug dock on Sulani, and now, she had ruined his legitimate business prospects too.

Jack *coldly*: What has she been saying?

Borson: Nothing specific, she simply said she had instituted a firm wide dismissal of all Moriarty Industries cases and that she would no longer do business with you. Something the co-founder Maisie has maintained…

Jack *smiling*: A simple misunderstanding. Stella being a typical overtly emotional woman that she is blew it out of all proportions. Thankfully, my son is engaged to be married to her daughter, I am sure when that wedding takes place this misunderstanding will clear up. 

Borson: I sincerely hope so. Misunderstandings with Stella have cost you, I don’t want them to cost me too.

Jack: What does that mean, Borson? If you’re referring to the dock Alastair Smythe and I tried to build on Sulani, then yeah it did cost me when that meddling woman stabbed me in the back! 

Borson: She must have had her reasons to turn on you, I can only conjecture as to why that was…

Jack: I don’t give  a fuck about her reasons. I do know she’s living the dream on Sulani with some island savage there, hopefully… if she’s still capable of having children, her savage will knock her up and she’ll have to get his dinner ready like a good wife should instead of meddling in the affairs of men. 

Borson chuckled at the Senator’s outburst.

Borson: Nice to see you’re still keeping an open mind Senator. 

Jack: Laugh it up Borson, but that woman and her meddling is your fault. You dragged her up out of the gutter, and in my opinion, that makes you responsible for her and the money she cost me. Thus, I reject your refusal of my business proposition to develop Magnolia.

Borson: I gave Stella a chance when the Oakmont’s and her own parents disowned her. Nothing more. Stella made good on the chance and succeeded. But I am not her master and she is not my pet, what she did over that dock is not my responsibility. And I do not owe you.

Jack: I disagree, on all counts.

Elita: Borson facepalmed, he had suspected this would be a waste of his time and he was not wrong.

Borson: You may. But if I know the Sulanians there is no way they would have tolerated your dock and taken steps to remove it themselves. In any case, wanting to rebuild Magnolia Heights into a trendy shopping sector is not going to translate well to your voters!
