Finland might be small and relatively unknown internationally for it's cinema but there are few exceptions. One of them is Finnish director @rennyharlin who is probably the most known commercial Finnish filmmaker in the world. Renny has had a long career in the industry in Finland, Hollywood and in China. His first feature lenght film 'Jäätävä polte - Born American' (1986) was a hit not only in Finland but it's also the most wide spread Finnish film in America. Because of that fame, Renny got his chance to direct a film in Hollywood. His first Hollywood film 'Prison' (1987) had some distribution problems but luckily a year later 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master' (1988) came out and was a huge success. After that Renny has worked with Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, @allstallone - Sylvester Stallone, @jackiechan and Geena Davis to name a few. He almost directed Alien 3 but that did not came through but he made the second installment of Die Hard franchise and the fourth film in the Exorcist series. Now years later Renny has returned to Finland and he's making films here with his friend and colleague @selin.markus a Finnish producer and founder of a production company @solarchannel aka Solar Films.
