THIS MOTHERFUCKER. ADHD, what I can only assume is either rampant insomnia or pure stubbornness (possibly the unholy combination of BOTH), and formerly a struggling alcoholic (thank FUCK he got better-) this-this man has issues. Is he a hero, and one of the best men you could ask to meet? Yeah. But GOOD LORD SOMEONE GET THIS GUY A THERAPIST./lh

White Knight Syndrome, Hero/Savior complex-whatever you call it, this man has it BAD. Will go out of his WAY both physically and mentally and risk his own life for anyone else-and has often had to be reminded that as much as it pains them, they can’t always take cases for free because they have BILLS TO PAY-! (this does not stop him.)

Surprisingly, he’s a very good dancer! He’s just-usually too wrapped up in being a detective to actually attend parties and the like-unless it’s FOR a case then you might-MIGHT-catch a glimpse. He’s quite shy about it really but he cleans up well when absolutely forced to. ..He just-prefers not to!/lh

When he gets stressed he often finds himself almost pacing holes in the carpet, much to the concern of his coworkers.

He H A T E S Dolls and mannequins. Statues and puppets fall under this umbrella too-they really freak him the hell out-as in he once punted one to the seventh dimension on reflex the minute he saw it come to life. It is ON SIGHT. 

He cannot do math for the LIFE of him, despite his renown as a detective. don’t know if it’s me self projecting my own ADHD-fueled hatred of it but he’s never really ‘gotten’ math. His older brother literally had to save his ass from failing HIGHSCHOOL because of it.

He kept many journals, most of which would go on to become the Shuster Novels-but one in particular has remained private to this day. It’s a journal of everything he wished he had said to multiple people-perhaps to not forget it next time he’d see them. 

They tried to convince him to try relaxing herbal teas at least once but-he didn’t seem particularly fond of the flavor. (Actually it was the tea leaf texture.)

You know those tumblr memes about Tony Hawk and how people just can’t seem to recognize him? Yeah. That’s happened to him on multiple occasions. ( “hey, Y’know you look a lot like that guy from those whacky novels!” “….Uh huh. Yep. Sure do.”)

There’s probably ‘true crime/mystery’ podcasts, YouTube videos and Reddit threads about him and his disappearance. And if this man ever learns to use the Internet, he is going to cause MASS CONFUSION and chaos in the comment sections.

Local police stations STILL tell stories about the batshit things this man has done-mostly as ‘what not to do’ examples.

Stormy and rainy weather is kind of his thing. It helps him focus a little and sometimes settle his wild mind. (It also Just matches the aesthetic but that’s just a me thing.)

That being said if he gets caught out in it, he’s had a tendency to shake off like a dog. His coworkers have found this out the hard way.

Aside from writing case details down, he just-writes sometimes. Sometimes it’s short little poems he’s embarrassed at the idea of anyone finding out about, sometimes it’s little notes about the people he knows-or little rants about something in particular that set him off that day, or a funny occurrence at work. It’s just kind of-a way he shows his devotion. If this man writes about you, you’ve obviously made an impact on his life-and he treasures it.

Sleep Schedule? What sleep schedule?  On restless nights (which is often.) you can find him usually pacing about his office, trying to put a case together, or writing a little bit to ease whatever’s bothering him.

This is apparently canon (thanks universal for giving us SOME little trivia about him), but he’s pretty fond of that Italian Place across the street-You’d be surprised how quick he was to take to pizza. (Apparently-it actually would have been EXPLODING in popularity around the exact same time as LT’s original operation-the late 1940’s.)

morning schedule? Nonexistent. It’s to be expected, when you have ADHD and you don’t Fucking sleep. Whatever DOES happen, it usually doesn’t start until after coffee.

He and his brother used to be Boy Scouts-and he still remembers how to tie rope pretty good!

No one trusts this man in a kitchen after the incident in which he attempted to make cookies for the crew (a sweet gesture, if things had gone as planned.) but fell asleep midway through and almost burned his apartment down.

You can pry his beat up ass car from his cold dead hands. ‘If it runs, it’s Fine’ is his motto-even when the mirror is duct taped on and the doors are covered in bullet holes ALSO masked with duct tape and various scratch marks, dents, knife scrapes, claw marks, burns, and other assorted ‘battle scars’. 

When bored, the ‘Howling Detective’ tends to attempt alleviating this in multiple ways. Throwing balled up paper into the trash bin, shooting rubber bands across the room, taking any excuse of a ‘case’ he can—he’s tried mystery novels but tends to figure them out quick, and then he’s bored again! 

He tends to tap his fingers on things, pick at stuff like tape, or click pens a lot.

Tends to keep gifts or little nicknacks all over the office. He doesn’t wanna part with them, and sometimes it can be quite a mess-

Has a WORRYINGLY high pain tolerance-to the point he may not notice he’s been injured until several moments later, or his coworkers have to drag him to a hospital.

There have been debates on whether or not the team (jokingly) needs to keep him on a leash. They look away for five seconds and he’s already hopping a fence or climbing in a window!

He’ll never tell you this, but he bit someone as a child once who insulted his older brother. Said brother absolutely did not let him live this down.

He seems like the kind of person that comes off as not making many jokes, and then one day they make this awful dad joke out of nowhere just to keep people on their toes.

Fidgets with phone cords. Has probably gotten his arm tangled in one at least ONCE and nearly pulled it off the table trying to get up in a hurry.

There’s been at least one morning where he’s gone rushing out the door with mismatched socks and GENUINELY did not notice until someone pointed it out.
