Azienda già attiva all'inizio del 1900 nella fornitura di accessori per le sartorie più prestigiose di Torino, la Borbonese viene rilevata da due giovani amici, Umberto Ginestrone ed Edoardo Calcagno. Grazie a loro, negli anni '60 il marchio raggiunge un grande successo con la creazione di gioielli fantasia eleganti ed estrosi. È del 1971 l'incontro con la Redwall di Bologna, industria pellettiera che inventa il prototipo della borsetta come la conosciamo adesso. Nei primi anni Ottanta Borbonese e Redwall estendono la loro visione dell'eleganza a tutte le occasioni del giorno (intimo notte e biancheria) e agli ambienti, dalle ceramiche agli arredamenti per la casa.
