Is there a pdf of the grow your own monster book where the Bootleglings come from? Or is there just some pictures here and there?
Actually, funny story. Two years ago, I searched the internet high and low for anything regarding the Grow Your Own Monsters book besides the one Tumblr post that exists. The most I found was one guy on Youtube that had the book. I got in contact with him and tried to get him send me scans, but he never got back to me. There was absolutely no other source on this book; no scans in existence.
So, I did some hard digging on the Library of Congress website, searched up what I was 90-ish% sure was the book’s the ISBN, found a fishy Ebay listing, and bought it.
So not only am I one of the few people in existence that even owns this book, I also have the only proper scans of the book that exist anywhere.
The scans are right here for you to peruse.
It’s not the entire book, but it includes all of the monster biographies (the six bootleg Koopalings and four other monsters including one ripped off of Godzilla and another which I believe is Fox McCloud from Starfox?) and a few extra pages that include other artwork.
This book is, like, the crown jewel of my dork horde, I swear.

I don’t know how I even missed it, much less for this long, but, once I found @koopainklingrk‘s Bootleglings they made (back in March of 2017 oh heck), I had to straight-up drop everything I was doing and draw some of them. These guys are great and I didn’t even know I needed goth lolita Mia and psycho Swampy until I saw these guys I LOVE THEM GHEIHGISHGH
Also, these are technically the very first versions of the Bootleglings that aren’t mine! These guys are getting around and it’s SO GOOOOD!!!

I couldn’t decide what to do for Mario day, so I sketched Mario in all these different outfits last night, then told my mom I had fifteen different sketches and I still didn’t know what to do.
She said to do all of them. Even worse, I listened to her.
This took me literally seven hours to line, color, and finish up, and that’s not even counting all the sketching I did. This thing is 358 layers and my entire Saturday. Happy Mario Day, everyone.
