I got this really cute pair of pink leather combat boots about a month or so ago from Depop. They were a bit scuffed and a buckle was broken - but whatever, I paid like $30 for them.
The other day I noticed the leather was cracking (I've never really owned real leather anything so, I didn't know they had to be conditioned) - so I took them to a repair shop. The repair shop couldn't fix them because he doesn't work on that brand...So instead, he recommended another place.
I looked it up and it's in another state like 3 hours away but they accept mailed orders and all the reviews look great. Sent in the boots yesterday - they arrived this morning and I just got the quote.
All in all they're estimating $110 for the repairs, cleaning and shipping. I'm hoping it'll be worth it because I have a good feeling that I can't get the shoes touched up anywhere near me....
Fingers crossed that this repair will be worth it and if it is...I have a beautiful leather purse I got in Japan like 10 years ago for like $3 that is definitely worth far more than that - but could really use some love...
