Use what learning style works for you.
- By Harvey segler on learning.
There are thousands of people on this planet, and there are just as many ways to learn things. Don ’ t assume that there is just one way to learn something, and that you are learning it wrong if you learn in a way that is different from other people that you know.
Some people learn by doing, and some people learn by reading. Then there are those that learn by taking notes. For still others, they find that they are able to learn best when they read something out loud.
When you are learning, you need to find what works for you, and go with that method. Even if it means that you need to learn in a different way for different topics. What I mean by that is that you may learn to cook by doing, and you may learn to draw by reading.
My point is that there isn ’ t a wrong way to learn, and what works for you is what you need to do, or you aren ’ t going to learn effectively, and that means you are likely to forget what you have learned.
Another thing that you need to keep in mind is that no one can tell you what your learning style is. You need to find that out for yourself, and not worry about if that is what other people are doing or not.
When you know what works for you, you can build your confidence on that. Don’t worry about what other people think of your learning style, and don’t worry about whether or not it is how other people are learning.
“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”
