Fake dating, sharing clothes, sharing a bed, Buck being Christopher's parent
He and Chris, and Buck. They work, theyâre a unit. Why should it matter that heâs single?
Buck is watching him, like heâs reading every thought on his face.
âYouâre already planning to lie about the date. Why donât you just tell her you met someone yourself?â
Eddie shrugs and tilts his head to the side, squinting in thought. âShe wonât set me up on dates if she thinks Iâve got someone,â he muses. âBut sheâll want to meet whoever it is.â
âSo... Introduce them?â
Or: Buck offers to fake-date Eddie so Pepa will stop setting him up on dates.

6x13, morning after, getting together, unreliable narrator, soft Eddie, insecure Buck
Their missing clothes and the fact that Eddie was currently using him as a human pillow were the only evidence that Buck's memories of the night before were real.
Wildly, his first thought after replaying everything in his head was, This is not good one-night stand etiquette. I shouldâve left already.
Absurdly, it filled him with hope that maybe this wouldnât be a one-night stand. Maybeâ
âYouâre thinking too loud,â Eddie mumbled, breath ghosting over Buckâs collarbone in a way that reminded him a lot of dim lights and couches and Iâve wanted to do this all night.
(Alternatively, Buck and Eddie hook up after the poker game in 6x13, and Buck has a hard time believing it when he wakes up the next morning.)

He squeezes Buckâs bare, sun warmed skin before he drops the contact, and strolls over to where Chim and Tommy are waiting.
If he stands a little too close to his teammate, well. Heâll never admit it.
Buck comes back into his line of vision, already back to looking like heâs a second away from stomping off the court.

It wasnât until a few days later when Eddie was doing laundry that he came across Buckâs discarded clothes. He mustâve tossed them in the hamper after his shower, Eddie holding the warn and stained clothing up in his hands.
Eddie toyed with the fabric, clutching it a little in his hands. Buckâs clothes were in his laundry, mixed with his and Chrisâ, like they belonged, like Buck was a part of their family.
Against his better judgement, Eddie brought the clothes up to his face, closing his eyes as he inhaled. While they smelled awful, reeking of soot, sweat, and blood, they also smelled like Buck, like home and safety. Eddie couldnât get enough.
Five times Buck leaves his clothes at Eddie's, and the one time they're right where they belong

Not actually unrequited love, pining Eddie, oblivious Buck, drunk Eddie, Bobby lives, mentioned past relationships, making out, miscommunication
Buck was there, back to Eddie, mixing something with such force that batter was coming up over the side of the bowl. Eddie smiled a bit at the sight and opened his mouth to greet him properly, holding the flowers close to his chest- to his heart.
âI am never dating another firefighter or first responder ever again,â Buck announced loudly, not looking up or turning to face the door.
Without another thought, Eddie stepped back onto the door step, gathered every ounce of strength and muscle memory from his baseball days, and chucked the flowers as far as he could on the other side of the house. He heard a dull thump and prayed to god that he would never see those stupid yellow things again. He stepped back into the house quickly and shut the door.
âOh? What happened?â he asked, forcing his voice into the perfect form of casual interest.
Just as Eddie plucks up the courage to ask Buck out, Buck announces a new rule of not dating any first responders.
After a quick spiral, Eddie decides to prove that he's worth breaking the rules for.

âBecause youâre the only one allowed to think heâs cool?â she asks dryly.

Maddie mutters something that sounds distinctly like, âCouldâve fooled me,â before Chimney comes into the kitchen and interrupts them.

His body, still spiked with adrenaline from almost getting crushed, took a while before it eventually caught up with his surroundings. There was someone yelling over the radio, someone panting in his ear.
Eddie's head rested against the wall behind them, one hand firmly grasping at Bucks' turnout from where he had gripped it to push them both back. The other hand was clutched at Bucks hip, gripping strong enough that it would have left a mark if they were wearing less clothes.
And wasn't that a thought?
