Itās inventory week in the library! That means I scan each book in the collection to, as I explain to my kids, ātuck it in for the summer.ā Basically, I need to make sure everythingās accounted for by the end of the school year and know if anythingās gone missing.
My predecessor inventoried every year, but Iām learning she wasnāt super big on weeding out the collection unless she absolutely had to. I started inventory yesterday and I already have a small mountain of books to remove from the collection behind my desk.
Out of everything Iāve found, here are my favorites:

Weeding at workā¦these books havenāt left their shelf in over five yearsā¦ We had over a 1000 books to weedā¦ and I think we are almost doneā¦ like we have about 30-40 more books to pick outā¦Its such a shame because some of the books are in really good conditionā¦ We usually sell the ones that are in good shape though ā¦ š
Tonight we pruned the library. Thereās another 40-50 or so stacked on the laundry table but weāre already tempting fate with these piles. I know the cat will take out the bottom step at about 2am this morning.
