As I Age so Does Love
Age will have you holding tighter,
to what once slipped through your fingers,
knowing how fleeting everything is.
You start to cherish the little moments moreโ
the late night talks,
the way someone looks at you
when they think you're not watching.
Love stops being fun little flings.
It becomes something sacred,
something you grip with both hands
and guard with your heart.
Because when it's real,
you'll cling to it like breathโ
even when it's messy,
even when it tests every ounce of patience,
even when it hurts.
I didn't run at the first sign of hard,
I stayedโ
not because it was easy,
but because every lesson led me here.
Every loss,
every almost,
every "not enough"
taught me what I was worth,
and what was worth fighting for.
I've known the less-than.
I've tasted what I didn't deserve.
And I've hurt,
and I've hurt others.
But pain is a teacher with a sharp tongue.
It taught me who I don't want to be.
It taught me what I should hold on to.
It taught me what I should hold out for.
And then I found itโ
the kind of love that made me stay.
I loved with the weight
of every past mistake,
deep as a promise,
fierce as a fireโ
something I couldn't let go.
It's the kind of love
you are worthy of.
And you felt it.
Because I made damn sure
you couldn't forget.
Here is how my cover turned out for my book but thankfully I got a proof copy because Amazon didn't print certain things out correctly inside the book so I just need a little bit more time before it's fully ready for release. Thanks for your patience!
