They’re aiming towards a showdown of sorts, I imagine. Jaejoong is so convinced that Jaehyun is the neighbourhood thug that he goes and beats Jaehyun to a bloody pulp. Soojin, who witnesses this, tells Jaejoong for the 154th time to leave her and Jaehyun alone, and that she’s never speaking to him again. I have two words for that, big and whoop. Anyway, S begins finding clues that Jaehyun is the anonymous thug that’s been going round smashing people’s faces in, and the drama stops there, not that I really care anymore. The lead characters are so utterly dislikeable that I find it impossible to root for them. Bongpil’s ship sailed somewhere around episode 2. Honestly, the B plot is more interesting, and even the drama there isn’t that good - I dont watch many Kdramas, but even I know that the rich young guy with an overbearing mother and inheritance has been done a million times.

On a slightly cheerier note, I liked the B plot with Googil, Jungae and Dalsoo, although really, how cornier and cliche can you get. 

It's been an exceptionally busy week for me, both at work and off work. Finally got some respite this afternoon, at work I mean, and I don't want to get into the mindset of Kdramas during my commute from work later, so decided to finish the rest of the episode at work. Surreptitiously.  Spoilers abound.  Well. Things are really heating up, and the way things are going, it really does look like they're trying to aim for a Bongpil/Jinsook pairing. (For reference, Jinsook is Juice girl. After about 8 episodes I finally have all their names, more or less.)  Quick recap of the episode. BP goes back in time and ends up on Jinsook's 25th birthday, shortly after he was discharged. Pharmacist guy hasn't gotten with Soojin yet, but is trying his very best. I know they're trying to paint him as the bad guy - especially that (imo) silly scene where he looks at the picture of SJ, BP and JS, then tears off the half with SJ and throws the other half into the bin - but I can't stress this enough, any girl with half a brain would choose Pharmacist over BP any day. BP is rude and boorish, has no career whatsoever, and the only thing he seems to live for in life, is stalking Soojin. He behaves like this all throughout the episode, and is exceptionally rude to Pharmacist when Soojin brings him to Jinsook's bday party, to the point that the rest of the squad are disgusted and ashamed by his behaviour. I've noticed that the producers have really dialled down Jaejoong's performance as mad, super-hyper BP, and turned him instead into a mopey desperate loser, which isn't really much of an improvement.   BP manages to reclaim the letters that Jinsook intercepted, which he wrote to Soojin during his military service, and in a truly nail-bitingly cringeworthy scene, the squad discover the letters, which he put in his back pocket, and start passing them around and loudly discussing them. All of them are confused, except for Soojin, BP and Jinsook, who all turn white - the three of them know exactly what those letters are, and what this means. Jinsook flees the scene, BP follows, and Soojin goes after them, hiding behind a doorpost to listen to their conversation because that's what people do in every single effing Kdrama or Jdrama that I've ever watched. Jinsook asks BP why he's not angry with her. Instead, he apologises to her, and says that he wished that he'd realized her feelings for her sooner. She says that she's too ashamed to see either him or Soojin now, and turns around and leaves. BP tries to stop her, albeit half heartedly, and he looks at her retreating back sadly. He then turns around, and sees Soojin, and realizes that she must have heard everything that they said. He tries to explain himself, but Soojin tells him that she's heartily sick of the stalemate in their relationship, and that the only thing she wants now is for him to leave well alone, and to treat Jinsook well. (Good going, Soojin.) Soojin then goes home, and thinks about how hard it was for her to like BP all these years. We see a flashback scene of her trying to visit BP whilst he was in the army, only to see that Jinsook had gotten there first, and the two of them are immensely enjoying themselves. There's another scene where Seoktae (the other exam guy, who's just found out that he passed his government exams) tries to tell Jinsook how he feels about her but is brushed off by her for the zillionth time. He pleads with her to forget about BP and to give him a chance, but she replies (as she always does) that she can't stop liking BP, just like Seoktae can't stop liking Jinsook. Finally, Jinsook decides to leave Seoul, and move to her grandmother's, who presumably lives in a different part of the country. The credits scene, interestingly enough, is a montage of snapshots of Jinsook and BP during her visit to him, where they're both having fun and looking into each other's eyes etc. No idea where this is going to go. I really think all of them need to chill out and try to meet new people. I still think Soojin is far better off with Pharmacist Dude than anyone else - yes, there was that scene where Pharmacist Dude rips up and chucks away BP's photo, but to be fair, given how hostile and mean BP has been to him, not to mention some of his behaviour that borders on illegal harassment (following Pharmacist around town and threatening him on multiple occasions), I think Pharmacist's animosity towards BP is completely justified.  We'll see what ep10 brings on the morrow.

Actually, I still maintain that it would be fun if they threw in a plot twister and had J end up with Makeup girl. That would be hilarious. And have Googil and Dalsoo be gay and end up as a couple. And Juice... I still think she’s too good for any of the guys in that motley crew of theirs. She should go backpacking in Europe and find a nice Italian to marry, and settle down there and open a Korean restaurant in Florence or something.
