I don't know why but I have issues with this dialogue. We're well into the 6th book by now and granted Ganoes is new to the ascendency thing, but enough has happened for him to talk in such a manner. This is like the dialogue is invalidating the existence of the books. Or probably trying to cast itself into a a different genre.
