The dark veil of night is torn, and it’s servants flee. And the hand that holds a sword cannot be offered in friendship, or in mercy… cannot cradle the heads of the wounded or dying… nor embrace those found after so many years apart. The last witnesses stand to hear the confessions of a world that will soon no longer be. The dead go wherever the dead are thought to go, and perhaps they are happy there. And we who remain have still to choose – What happens now? The will in each of us is born free, and ours – ours is the choice to kill, to heal, to destroy, to defend. You must choose what do to with the gift of your life. In the end, this gift is all you’ve ever possessed. Your will. Your story. Your life. What did you do with all that was yours? And what of you will be carried fourth into the world that still lives? Every breath, every heartbeat – You can change your story. You can choose what to make of yourself and of your time in this world that so many have loved, that so many have died for. The spear can become a hook, to gather fruit for little children. The sword can become a ploughshare, and feed a generation yet to come. You are never so far gone that you cannot make of your life something better. And we will be here to help you with each step of that journey. We are the promise of this earth. We are the breakers of chains. And we that gather and mourn will not be haunted… We will grieve today, tomorrow, a hunted years, and yet – We will not ache for the world that is gone… But we will dream, and we will work, for how bright the future will be where we can all, at last, belong.
