The lady of the waters slithers around the basin of the amazon river creating in her way new places for the water to flow,such a powerful being has no regard for the actions of humans who are often in her way.

Boiuna the lady of the waters is a great snake that manifests at night,just by the action of moving is capable of changing the direction of the rivers,measured by miles the great snake can simply move and cause floods,it is an aggresive spirit that has no patience for the nonsense of humans and can sink antire ships just by passing by,sometimes if she just feels like it attacks the whole boat and devours the passangers ,her other abilities are shapeshifting,often giving men a false sense of security by transforming into a pretty lady just to take them away and finishing them for good.

Physical Appearance

The Boiuna is a nocturnal black snake had dark green skin, yellowish white underneath, two frills with red and black dots, blackish spots running over the back to tail, and stocky head, which is the most powerful creature of the rivers within the Amazon rainforest.

there’s this brazilian indigenous tale that i always loved: it was always day, the night was sealed under a river protected by Boiúna, a giant snake with glowing eyes. Certain day Boiúna gave Night- inside a coconut (Tucumã) - as a present  to her daughter, that had send three men to get it.

They started to listen dreams and noises from frogs and crickets coming from the coconut and decided to open it, then Night got free and everything darkened. Boiúna’s daughter saw it and then tore apart the night and day, and made two birds, a Cujubi to announce the day and an owl to announce the night.
