Thank You Anne Anne means mother in Turkish. My friend and I were backpacking in Turkey in 1982. We were in Bodrum staying at a family pension waiting for a money transfer that took much too long. Our host, Anne, realized we were low on funds as we did not go out as much to have fun and offered us a loan plus free lodging and food if we would help meet tourists at the local bus station to bring to the pension. It saved us and it turned out to be a big plus for the pension as we filled the place with happy tourists. 9 Years later I returned with my family to a great welcome.
