Bodhi and Cassian running into each other's arms after the second death star explodes
They spend the first part of the celebration making out behind a tree because they are just so happy they are both alive
After being interupted by a startled Ewok they join the festivities
Bodhi is a super lightweight and drunkenly runs around telling everyone how proud he is of them and crying over how fluffy the ewoks are before coming back and forcing Cassian to dance
Cassian is so happy he doesn't even pretend to be annoyed, dancing clumsily in Bodhi's arms feels like flying
They both wake up with pounding headaches in a tree fort with wedding rings, wedge drunkenly officiated their drunken wedding, and it's totally not official but it's the only wedding they ever have
With the galaxy in relative stability they decide that they both really want kids and adopt a few children who were orphaned in the war and they are the best dads Â
Cassian loves raising children because he can live a childhood he never had through them
Bodhi is happy to pass on traditions from JedhaÂ
Baze and Chirrut are the best uncles and Kaytoo gives them piggy back rides all the time much to Cassianâs disapproval
The war leaves them both with a lot of scars but they help each other get through them and build themselves a life with their family and eventually the war feels like a distant memory and they are old and happy and in love

Some headcanons for bodhicassian week just because i CAN
they r both early risers. maybe in another universe they wouldn't be but with the empire and the rebellion, waking early is.......familiar, if not easy. when they can they stay in bed and just talkÂ
bodhi is such a plant bitch he has 800 plants and they all have names. cassian finds this adorable, because bodhi talks to them and asks them how they're doin
they love calling each other âcassâ and âboâ itâs true
cassian is a really picky eater which obviously isnât convenient so he always forces himself to eat whatever is there but he hates it.... bodhi starts cooking more once he realizes
cassian is very fond of calling bodhi âloveâ idk why it just is what it is
cassian is the first one to say i love you. bodhi is really used to like NOT EVER sharing that sort of information literally ever heâs use to just pushing his emotions down and unlike cassian he doesnât eXAMINE THEM (smh bodhi) so he takes a lot longer to say it but he tells cassian that he wants to be able to say it one day and cassian assures him that it doesnât matter if he never says it back (its okay becuase bodhi DOES)
theyâre poe dameronâs god parents i donât make the rules sorry they love poe and spoil him absolutely rottenÂ
theyâre a really obnoxious couple because they do things that arenât necessarily romantic but are so ANNOYINGLY couple-y like theyââ sit there and absently hand each other the food they donât like or whatever tool they need to fix something without even talking about it it probably drives jyn up the wall because itâs not PDA OR ANYTHING ITS JUST THERE n theyâre CLEARLY IN LOVEÂ
âWhy didnât you leave?â Bodhi asked softly. âThere was time for you. And Iâm an Imperial.â
The cool shadow of the cell seemed to close around them, Cassianâs stare didnât falter in the dark.
âAre you?â he answered.
if you get us onboardÂ
chapter 5 of 6... aka bodhicassian is finally happening ^^;; | 1375 words | cw: canon-typical violence | day 4: force sensitive Bodhi Rook | [Ao3] - updates dailyÂ
No matter the facility, Bodhi thought miserably, pressed his sleeve to Cassianâs head wound. Thereâs never any shortage of Imperial holding cells.
Cassian gave a hoarse murmur as he came round, eyes moving behind his lids. He coughed, dry and urgent, tried to sit up as Bodhi reached for his water flask.
âYouâve had a bad injury,â Bodhi said quickly, Cassian was shivering as he collapsed back onto the ground. âDo you feel numb anywhere? Do you remember our landing on Jedha?â
Cassian slitted open an eye, Bodhi held the flask for him to drink. He still seemed disoriented, and not two seconds had passed before he coughed again, this time spitting out most of the water he was trying to swallow.
âSorry,â Cassian said thickly, Bodhi tried to rub between his shoulders.
âWeâre in a containment cell,â Bodhi whispered, Cassianâs hands were fumbling for the pouch strapped to his ankle. Bodhi shook his head.
Theyâd already taken it.
Realising the same, Cassian swiftly abandoned the effort, his stare now travelling to each corner of their surroundings. Gritting his boot against the wall, he was about to make another attempt to stand when something stopped him, he narrowed his eyes.
âAre you hurt?â Cassian rasped. His gaze fell to the bandage on Bodhiâs arm, far shabbier than when theyâd landed.
âNo... this is the one I prepared earlier,â Bodhi offered, and to his surprise, Cassian shot him a woozy smile.
âWhereâs Kaytoo?â was his next question, but to that Bodhi didnât know. He hadnât seen the droid since they were dragged from the ship.
âWeâll find him,â Bodhi murmured, realised he was reaching for Cassianâs hand. He hadnât meant to say something so unhelpful- in fact, he couldnât remember an Imperial prisoner ever finding anything except a labor camp sentence- but Cassianâs determination in the hangar had awakened in him something he thought the Empire had taken for good.
âWhy didnât you leave?â Bodhi asked softly. âThere was time for you. And Iâm an Imperial.â
The cool shadow of the cell seemed to close around them, Cassianâs stare didnât falter in the dark.
âAre you?â he answered.
Bodhi blinked, the dull ache of his blaster wound felt nearer on the words. He remembered the shouts, a low, droning siren. He was back in the flight hangar, the words raid and lockdown echoing through the passageways. The emergency power had failed, he was bolting around the corners on memory alone.
And then there was the rebel, dark-eyed, unarmed, wrong turn, no time. The blaster was in Bodhiâs hand. He had every opportunity. He raised the weapon.
âYou might need this,â Bodhi said quietly. âIf youâre going to make it out of here.â
From another passageway, a volley of shots whizzed past. Bodhi turned, dived in front, the halogens shuddering overhead and the taste of carbon at his throat. When the lights spluttered back to life the rebel was gone, his wrist left burning and dark.
âNo,â Bodhi said under his breath, louder when he knew it to be true.
He knew why Cassian looked so familiar.
âNot anymore.â
The admission stretched between them, Bodhiâs face was damp with tears. Cassian reached his hand, grazed the inside of his palm to Bodhiâs cheek. He looked more wounded than Bodhi had ever seen, and before he could guess, or think, or hesitate, Bodhi leant forward, brushed his lips where Cassianâs had gently parted. For a half-second the rebelâs eyes widened, raw and searching, his fingers trembled where they caged below Bodhiâs jaw. And then Cassian was kissing him back, his mouth warm and stinging and wet, rough as Bodhi pulled him close. Cassian kissed with a tenderness that knocked the air from his lungs, Bodhiâs hands tangled fiercely in the taller manâs hair, his flight goggles slipped to the floor. Cassian held him until his stare blurred bright and torn, Bodhi closed his arms around Cassianâs neck.
âIf there's a chance, I want you to take it,â Cassian whispered, his mouth flinched to a snarl as footsteps sounded outside.
He looked surprisingly impassive by the time two stormtroopers entered the cell.
âLetâs move,â came the command, Cassianâs wrists were bound at his front with energy cuffs. Bodhi wondered why he didnât receive the same treatment, the decision leaving him unsettled rather than reassured. They had barely marched the length of the holding cell before Cassianâs balance wavered, one of the troopers driving him forward with a shove. Bodhi saw a trickle of fresh blood leak from Cassianâs wound.
âI want to speak to Tssâuek,â said Bodhi, daring to hope the one officer who seemed fair was on duty. The stormtroopers only laughed, the sound so empty that Bodhi couldnât bring himself to ask again.
âDo you know who he is, in the Alliance?â said the trooper holding Cassian. He shook Cassian for emphasis, and alarmingly, Cassian looked so drained that he didnât notice.
âWhereâs our droid?â Bodhi demanded, desperate for something to distract them. He had some idea that if he could only stall long enough, Cassian might only be pretending, heâd use some secret rebel move to free himself from the cuffs and disarm their captors in one.
The stormtroopers didnât slow their pace.
There were no magic happy endings.
âDid you reprogram the droid?â said the taller one, jerked Cassian viciously when he stumbled. âI hope you had a backup at home.â
Cassianâs head rolled forward as he fought to remain conscious.
âStop that,â Bodhi said softly, his nails digging into his palms as he tried to think.
âAnd do you have any idea what happens to traitors?â the second trooper said, quieter now. âItâs worse than whatâll happen to him. Heâll disappear without note. Youâll set an example.â
From somewhere faraway, Bodhi realised the words were meant to scare him. And, not so long ago, they wouldâve. But right now, all he could see was Cassian, his face unflinching as the troopers shook him again, blood tracing the line of his jaw and spattering onto his shoulder. When they got no reaction, an armoured boot kicked into the side of Cassianâs knee. Still Cassian showed them nothing.
âStop that,â said Bodhi, louder. He could sense his pulse racing, feel the roll of a sweatdrop over Cassianâs lip. He could hear the rattle of Cassianâs lungs as he struggled not to cry out in pain, taste blood as Cassian bit into his tongue.
âStop! Stop it!â Bodhi shouted, his wrists were seized before he could lunge forward. In the same instant, Cassianâs energy cuffs flickered, opened and clattered heavily to the floor. The stormtrooper who had been shaking him had frozen. Bodhi could barely breathe.
âLet go of me,â he said slowly, felt the air prickle and seize as the second stormtrooperâs arms loosened from his wrists.
Cassian was trembling, from shock or from what he was seeing Bodhi wasnât sure.
âIt isnât possibleâŚâ Cassian whispered.
It isnât, thought Bodhi, his heart clawing in his chest. But I have to try.
âYou will tell me the location of the KX droid,â Bodhi said clearly, fixed his gaze on the stormtrooper nearest to him.
âI will tell you the droid has been restrained on your cargo ship, awaiting inspection by the General,â recited the stormtrooper. Cassian held himself up on the opposing wall.
âAnd you will tell me the condition of the cargo ship,â Bodhi said calmly.
âI will tell you that the ship has been landlocked, all clearance codes erased,â answered the trooper. Bodhi felt his windpipe tighten, he shot Cassian a despairing look.
âIf you get us onboard,â Cassian said huskily. âKaytoo and I can do the rest.â
When Bodhi stared up, Cassian managed a grim nod. His eyes had come back into focus.
âYou will provide us with your armor and weapons,â Bodhi addressed both soldiers, his tone left no room for question. âAnd afterward return to our cell. And lock the door,â he added.
âAnd forget you ever saw us,â Cassian said hopefully.
âAnd forget you ever saw us,â said Bodhi.
Only once disguised in the stormtroopersâ armor, an emergency bacta patch plastered to Cassianâs brow and the door of the shuttle closing behind them, did Bodhi allow himself to believe.

Just in time for Bodhicassian Week, Day 7, I am pleased to present the first three chapters of Five Years Ago. This is the prequel to Twelve Hour Shift, and the fact that it exists is pretty much entirely  @writinredheadâ âs fault. Thanks for encouraging me to write it.Â

*
Contains both Day 1 and Day 2. IâM A REBEL. In case anyoneâs wondering, the chapters connect but loosely; you wonât be left hanging (and leave a damn comment, I FEED on those). completely separate plot from the Rookâs Nest.Â
*
Also, while weâre here, Iâd like to do some shameless plugging. The Rookâs Nest Discord server is still there, and it IS R1 themed, so just come to chat, I can make a room for every pairing. This movie and all the chars deserve a lot more attention.
So this is my first fic ever in honour of bodhicassian week! I didnât realize it was coming up so I wrote this pretty quickly but iâm still happy enough with it to share! Hope you enjoy :)Â
(Read on Ao3)
At first when Cassian wakes up, he feels nothing. Then, he opens his eyes and feels everything. Pain, confusion, fear, overwhelming relief at being alive. Then, an overwhelming dread.
He hauls himself up and promptly topples over off his cot. Medical officers are over to help him in seconds.
"Bodhi, where's Bodhi?" Cassian tries to ask, clutching the bed to keep himself upright.
"Sir please sit down, you are in no condition to be up."
The last he remembers was static, silence over the com link where Bodhi should have been.
"Where's Bodhi?" His heart is beating too fast and the lights are too bright, but he stumbles forward to try and find the answer himself.
When he see's him on another cot surrounded by medical personnel, Cassian's heart stops dead in his chest. Bodhi is shades of red and purple; a sunset dangerously nearing the horizon. Alive, but barely. Someone moves and Cassian sees shockingly empty space where his arm used to be.
Then all the pain comes back and Cassian is falling.
âŚ...........
To Kaytoo's delight, Cassian recovers quickly and is released in a few days.
"Humans are so boring when they are asleep. I nearly short circuited from boredom."
"Yeah, I'm glad you're okay too Kay."
He visits Baze and Chirrut who are both safe and settling into their quarters provided by the rebellion. He even catches Jyn as she is leaving with what little supplies she can carry. Cassian feels disappointed, but not surprised. She had done her duty, for her father, and that was enough for her.
Mostly, Cassian visits Bodhi. Even after three days in a bacta tank, it still wasn't looking good. He worries until he can't take it any longer and begs Mon Mothma to give him something to do, anything to be helpful. She refuses obviously, he shouldn't even be out of bed technically. So he wanders aimlessly, sometimes with Kaytoo and sometimes alone, and more often than not finds himself back at Bodhi's side. He sits and waits, fear and guilt behind stoic eyes.
Bodhi is unresponsive and Cassian has never felt more useless in his life.
âŚ..........
Cassian is having dinner in the mess hall with Baze, Chirrut, and Kaytoo, though he hasn't been able to stomach much lately, so he's mostly just there for some responsive company for a change. And also mostly because Kaytoo made the plans and threatened to tell the medical officers he was sick if he didn't follow through with them. Cassian is forcing another spoonful of soup down his throat (after receiving Kaytoo's best effort at a glare) when Chirrut stops abruptly and tilts his head with a slight smile on his lips. Baze notices and stops his story about a time him and Chirrut were on the run with a group of children mid sentence.
"Chirrut? What is it?"
Chirrut gestures to Cassian.
"I have a feeling you might want to check on your pilot."
Cassian stops with his spoon mid air and his mouth hanging open. He looks from Baze to Chirrut, to Kaytoo, and drops it with a splash. Without a word he sprints to the medical center.
When Cassian arrives he's not allowed inside, but he can see some commotion through the small window in the door. He paces up and down the thin hallway until he loses track of time. His thoughts mimic his reflection which flashes by on the metal panel walls. At one point he stops to examine it, his image hazy and distorted as it reaches his eyes. It's the same reflection he sees in the mirror when the nights get too much and he lets the broken thing inside of himself escape, eyes clouded with the lives he couldn't save.
He sees Bodhi, a canvas of purple and red, and leans his forehead against the wall. From the moment he saw the pilot, broken, brave, beautiful, curled in Saw Gererra's cell, he knew that he would make it all worth it. That if he could follow his heart, so could Cassian. If he could make it through, Cassian would. Cassian closed his eyes. The thought of him not making it was too much.
"Cassian? You can come in now."
Cassian acknowledges this with a slight nod and walks in.
When he sees Bodhi he can't stop the smile that grows on his face and his pace increases until Bodhi's right there, looking up at him with a tired but genuine grin.
"Bodhi! I'm glad to see you're awake. You look... a lot better." Cassian's smile falters and he can't hide is worry when his eyes linger on Bodhi's new prosthetic arm, it's black metal glinting in the light. Bodhi notices and rubs it with his other arm reflexively.
"Don't look so concerned, I still made it, like, ninety-five percent out. Rounds up to a hundred. Pretty sure Kaytoo would call those odds pretty good."
"You don't know him like I do, Kay's a pessimistic idiot." Cassian laughs at the thought. He's lightheaded with relief, his heart beating fast and his body floating with the feeling.
Bodhi's warm, living hand comes up and wipes away a tear Cassian hadn't realized was on his cheek. It lingers there for a second, their eyes sharing more than either would be able to put into words. Bodhi looks away blushing, and rubs his new arm again.
"They told me you've been around a lot." Bodhi says with a shy smile.
Cassian looks anywhere but Bodhi, suddenly uncomfortable. He tries to start a sentence but fails a few times and gives up.
He feels a warm hand cover his and their eyes meet again.
"Hey, it's okay, I'm glad to know you have my back."
Cassian shifts his hand to lock their fingers, blushing slightly.
"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."
