Introduction to the Bobongko Language
Bobongko is a Saluanic Saluan-Banggai language spoken in the Togian Islands of Central Sulawesi in Indonesia. It is a small language, with about 1,500 speakers, but its usage within its speech communities is vibrant and daily usage is encouraged. Speakers are spread mostly across the Lembanato village along with other Kilat Bay locations, with around four hundred additional speakers concentrated in Tumbulawa village.
Its family classification is as follows: Austronesian; Malayo-Polynesian; Nuclear MP; Celebic; Saluan-Banggai; Saluanic; Bobongko. Its ISO is <bgb>.
