BOB ANDY (28 October 1944 – 27 March 2020)
Keith Anderson CD, better known by the stage name Bob Andy, was a Jamaican reggae vocalist and songwriter. Bob Andy emerged as a solo star in 1966 with the smash hit "I've Got to Go Back Home", a song which has become a much-loved anthem for Jamaicans. He had served his singing and songwriting apprenticeship with the legendary vocal group THE PARAGONS, which he founded with Tyrone (Don) Evans and Howard Barrett, later joined by John Holt. The Paragons had several hits for producer Coxsone Dodd including the Number One "Love At Last", penned by Bob.
Jamaica conferred its Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander (CD) on Keith ‘Bob Andy’ Anderson in October 2006 for his contributions to the development of reggae music.

Keith Anderson a/k/a Bob Andy (1944-2020) was a Jamaican reggae vocalist and songwriter who was having hits in Jamaica from 1967. Anyone past their first half century who remembers the pop music of their youth will remember ‘Young Gifted and Black’ by Bob and Marcia and will guess that he was the Bob of that duo. Marcia went on to be a backing vocalist for a much more successful Bob, Bob Marley. Bob Andy continued write, sing, act and dance, and grow a distinct and handsome beard.
