BLYDENBURGH PARK
This photo was taken at Blydenburgh Park in Smithtown on Long Island on October 1, 2017. I was having a horrible day and my friend Abby wanted to take me to get away from the stressful situations that were going on in my life. It was late and the park was probably closed, so nobody was there. We sat on the dock and just talked about school and work for a while, and how stressed we both are. Abby is really sick with cystic fibrosis, so I never take a moment with her for granted. It was extremely peaceful by this lake and it made me really happy to spend time with her there.Â
Sitting on a dock is one of the most peaceful places to do some serious deep thinking, by yourself or with someone close to you. Sometimes being alone with just the sound of your own thoughts is important. I’m really lucky to live on Long Island because there are so many oceans and lakes to spend time at. Long Island is truly beautiful, and people that live here take it for granted.
