Dont make me blush
Hyunjin x 9th female reader
Masterlist
You were squeezed onto a velvet sofa between Felix and Hyunjin for a high-profile variety interview. The atmosphere was chaotic and fun, but you were trying your best to stay composed. You knew the "shippers" on the internet analyzed every frame, so you were being extra careful to keep a professional distance.
The interviewer leaned forward, looking at a fan submitted question. "This one is for our 9th member! A fan wants to know: 'Who among the members is the most different off camera versus on-camera?'"
"Oh, that's easy," you said, reaching for the microphone. "It’s definitely Hyunjin-oppa."
The members "ooohed" immediately. Hyunjin tilted his head, a playful, challenge filled smirk growing on his face. "Me? Why me?"
"Well," you started, feeling the heat rise to your neck as the camera zoomed in on you. "On stage, he’s very... intense. But at the dorm, he’s actually very soft. He’s like a... a clingy cat."
The room erupted. Han was fake-gagging, and Chan was laughing into his hand.
Hyunjin didn't look away. Instead, he leaned into your personal space, resting his chin on his hand and staring at you with those heavy, dark eyes that he usually reserved for solo photoshoots.
"Clingy?" he repeated, his voice dropping an octave for the mic. "Do you find me clingy, or do you just like the attention?"
You froze. You could feel the tips of your ears turning bright red a dead giveaway on 4K cameras. You tried to look at the interviewer, but Hyunjin nudged your shoulder with his, refusing to let you escape the moment.
"Look at her," Lee Know teased, pointing at your face. "She’s turning into a tomato."
"I-I'm not," you stammered, hiding behind your cue cards. "It’s just the studio lights! They're very bright today."
Hyunjin reached over, and for a second, you thought he was going to take the mic. Instead, he gently tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, his fingers lingering just a second too long against your skin. He leaned in closer, whispering not into the mic, but just for you to hear:
"Your face is getting really hot. Should I stop, or is it too late?"
You ducked your head, your heart racing so fast you were sure the clip-on mic was picking it up. You couldn't even speak; you just gave a tiny, shy nod, causing the members to howl with laughter at your rare loss of words.
Hyunjin just sat back, looking incredibly proud of himself, wearing a triumphant grin that told everyone exactly how much he enjoyed flustering you.
