The soft glow of the Stray Kids community center set felt warmer than usual today. They were filming a special "SKZ Community Center" episode with children, and while the room was filled with laughter, one little boy named Suho was having a harder time than the others. He stood by the entrance, his bottom lip trembling as he looked at the bright lights and the loud, energetic idols. He was clearly overwhelmed and nervous, his eyes darting around for a place that felt safe.
Yeoni noticed him immediately. As a member of the group, she often tuned into the emotions of those around her, and her heart ached for the shy toddler. She didn't call out to him or rush over; instead, she sat down on the soft play mat, making herself small and approachable. She began quietly stacking some colorful blocks, not looking directly at him.
Slowly, lured by her calm energy, Suho waddled across the room. He bypassed Bang Chan’s wide, welcoming arms and Lee Know’s playful poking, heading straight for the one person who felt like a quiet harbor. When he reached her, he didn't just sit; he climbed directly into Yeoni’s lap and buried his face in her neck, his small hands clutching her shirt. Yeoni hummed a soft melody, rubbing his back in slow circles until his tense little shoulders finally relaxed.
Hyunjin, who had been watching the interaction with a look of pure adoration, moved from his spot across the room. He didn't want to startle the nervous boy, so he sat down cross-legged right next to Yeoni, effectively creating a protective little bubble around her and Suho. He leaned in, his long hair falling forward as he gently offered a plush dinosaur, moving it slowly so Suho could see it.
"It’s okay, Suho-ya. The dinosaur is a bit shy too," Hyunjin whispered, his voice incredibly sweet and low. Suho peeked out from Yeoni's shoulder, his big eyes blinking at the toy. Seeing Hyunjin’s kind smile, he reached out a shaky hand to touch the dinosaur's tail. He didn't move an inch from Yeoni’s lap, preferring to stay anchored to her, but he began to engage with the world again. Yeoni wrapped her arms securely around his waist, resting her chin on his head while she helped him "talk" to Hyunjin’s toy.
The rest of the members were supposed to be focused on the other children, but they couldn't help but be drawn to the sight. Han and Felix stood a few feet away, watching the trio with soft expressions. "He only trusts them," Felix whispered. Han nodded, a teasing grin forming despite the sweetness of the moment. "Look at Hyunjin. He looks like a proud dad helping his kid make his first friend."
Every few minutes, if a loud noise or a sudden burst of laughter from the other members startled Suho, he would immediately turn back to Yeoni, hugging her tightly. He only came to her for comfort, and she was always there to catch him. Hyunjin stayed right there with them the entire time, wiping a stray tear from Suho's cheek or holding the toddler's hand while they played with bubbles to distract him from his nerves.
Seungmin walked by, leaning down to witness the peace they had created. "You two have completely adopted him, haven't you? It’s like a scene from a family drama."
"Seriously," Changbin added, crouching down to offer Suho a snack. "Yeoni is the only one who can keep him calm, and Hyunjin won't leave her side. They really do look like parents."
Bang Chan, watching from the sidelines with a satisfied smile, finally voiced what everyone was thinking. "Our group’s parents," he called out, making the others cheer. "Look at Yeoni and Hyunjin! Suho won't go to anyone else because he knows they’ve got him."
Yeoni felt a blush creep up her neck at the "parent" comments, but she didn't move. She looked at Suho, who was now giggling as Hyunjin made the dinosaur "dance" on his knee, and then up at Hyunjin, whose eyes were fixed on the two of them with a look of absolute devotion.
Throughout the long shoot, Suho remained Yeoni’s shadow. Whenever he felt the slightest bit of social anxiety, he would run back to her arms, hiding his face until he felt brave again. Hyunjin acted as his constant guardian, sitting so close to Yeoni that their shoulders were permanently pressed together.
As it was eating time. Yeoni sat next to chanwook who was next to I.n with seungmin while Han & Hyunjin, and Changbin were with suho and Felix , leeknow,bangchan and together with yeonwoo
Yeoni sat on her chair next to chanwook focused entirely on their meal.
Yeoni spent the entire lunch hour doting on him with I.n and seungmin holding a small bowl of warm jajangmyeon, blowing on each spoonful before offering it to Chanwook. He ate eagerly, his small hands resting on Yeoni’s arm as he looked up at her with pure trust. I.N sat right beside them, peeling a tangerine and splitting the segments between Yeoni and the toddler. With seungmin behind them looking at chanwook chewing.They looked like a tiny, private world of their own, undisturbed by the cameras or the loud laughter of Han and Changbin nearby.
Once the meal was finished, the sleepiness hit the toddlers hard. His blinks became slower, and suho’s head began to heavy-nod. Seeing this, Chanwook didn't reach for a nap mat; instead, he crawled toward the pile of cushions where the soft brown blanket lay. With a bit of effort, he dragged the fleece back over to Yeoni and I.N.
Without being prompted, Chanwook carefully draped the blanket over Yeoni’s legs first, then pulled the edge over I.N’s lap and over seungmin’s waist, ensuring his favorites for the day were taken care of Finally.
While the other kids were being led to nap mats, Chanwook remained firmly planted next to Yeoni. They had spent the last hour eating together, a quiet ritual of sharing candy’s and radish. Yeoni reached over to wipe a stray crumb from Chanwook's cheek, and he responded with a wide, toothy grin that made the other two, sitting on their other side, let out a soft "Aww."
"Thank you, Chanwook-ah," Yeoni whispered, leaning back against a cushion and pulling the edge of the blanket closer to her chin. I.N laughed softly, settled in beside her under the warmth. "Are you going to sleep with us?"
Chanwook looked at them for a second, his eyes bright and full of mischief. He shook his head vigorously. Now that his favorites were taken care of and tucked in, his mission was over. He had far too much energy left for a nap.
Without a second thought, he spun around and spotted Yeonwoo across the room, who was currently busy piling up plastic bowling pins. Chanwook let out a tiny, excited shout and sprinted away, leaving Yeoni i.n and seungmin trapped under the small blanket he had so lovingly tucked them into.
"Wait, Chanwook-ah! You’re not staying?" Seungmin called out, but the toddler was already halfway across the room, diving headfirst into a pile of toys with Yeonwoo.
They exchanged a look of pure exhaustion and amusement. "I guess we’re the only ones napping," I.n joked, adjusting the blanket that Chanwook had basically pinned them down with.
From the other side of the room, Bang Chan and Han watched the scene, doubling over in silent laughter. "Look at them," Han whispered, pointing at the three idols buried under the yellow fleece. "The baby tucked the maknae’s in so he could go play in peace. He really played them!"
Yeoni just sighed happily, watching Chanwook and Yeonwoo chase each other in circles. Even though he had abandoned their "nap," the fact that he had made sure she was warm before running off to play made her heart feel fuller than ever. She and the other two stayed there, cozy and warm under Chanwook’s blanket, watching the two toddlers cause chaos across the set.
