If you havenāt heard of Influenster, let me tell you a little about it. Influenster is a website where people share reviews of products theyāve used, ranging from makeup and skincare to cleaning supplies to pet food. You can sign up and link all of your social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) in order for them to gauge how much social mediaĀ āinfluenceā you have. Based on your social media presence, Influenster will send you surveys to fill out to see if you are a match to try out free products. If selected, they will send you something to try out. For free. Then you write a review and wait around for the next sample.
I joined Influenster about six months ago because I, obviously, love to write product reviews and, obviously, love free stuff. I had previously received a Pantene hairspray to try and it was awful. I had seen that people had received Marc Jacobs mascara and other really cool stuff, so I was bummed that all I got was a dumb, terrible hairspray.
Then, about a month ago, they sent me a survey to fill out and, after they deemed me worthy, sent me an email to tell me Iād receive a Blush Box. I, literally, thought I was getting a box of blushes, and I was stoked. Haha. But what I actually got was so much better than that!
Hereās a breakdown/quick review of everything I received:
1. Pantene Expert Intense Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner. I didnāt have high hopes for these products for 2 reasons: 1. I hated the Pantene hairspray theyād sent me months earlier, and 2. I have very fine hair that is prone to oiliness, so I tend to stay away from hydrating hair products. Boy, was I wrong! This shampoo and conditioner made my hair so soft and manageable; it felt like I was using high-end hair products. It has a lovely, subtle scent, as well. For $4.99 a bottle, I think this is a really luxurious product that I will definitely purchase.
2. Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel Antiperspirant. I actually already owned this stuff and I love it. As a teenager, I developed overactive sweat glands (aka I was a sweat monster) and it was super embarrassing. I tried all kinds of deodorants, but nothing worked. It wasnāt until I got to college that I was brave enough to ask my GP about what I could do to stop the sweat. I was prescribed Drysol and it stopped my sweating entirely, so much so that I didnāt have to wear deodorant anymore. As Iāve gotten older, though, I stopped using Drysol and started using Secret Clinical Strength to combat the sweat. It actually works really well! Because itās a gel, it doesnāt leave behind deodorant marks on your clothes and keeps you dry all day. Definitely a must for hot summer days.
3. Ardell Fashion Lashes in 117. I love Ardell lashes, especially their Demi-Wispies and their Double Up line. These were not my favorite because they were just too basic for me. ByĀ ābasicā, I mean that I felt like they looked like fake eyelashes, instead of looking natural. They were fine, but Ardell has better styles. Ardell is a really wonderful, inexpensive option for falsies. I highly recommend them!
4. Simple Skincare Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes. These were the star of my Blush Box. As a heavy makeup wearer, I have never been into using makeup remover wipes because I have never felt that they are worth the extra step. Iāve never found any that actually feel like they are taking off my makeup. Until now. Before, I would use a wipe then wash my face then use a face brush. It was a pain. Now, with just one of these wipes, I can successfully remove enough makeup to move straight into using my face brush.Ā
For ladies and gentlemen who donāt wear super heavy makeup, these would be a wonderfully easy way to quickly rid your face of any light makeup/pollutants from the day. I am completely obsessed with them.
