Blurps: Laszlo x Violinist! Reader.
AN: Did I take time to make a mini moodboard for this? Yes. I hope you enjoy it.
Laszlo stood at the entrance of Sara's office. It was pretty much empty as night was starting to fall. Sara was out, Laszlo only passed by to grab a few documents. He didn't expect to find anyone, especially not you, and especially not hear such sweet music coming from the office. You had taken the opportunity to be alone in Sara's office to take out your violin and practice a little bit. You had immediately accepted when your friend, Sara, had offered you a job in her Detective's agency. You had been working on a case with John Moore and Dr Kreizler for a few weeks now, you barely had any time to practice anymore.
You had your eyes closed as your fingers worked the cords, as your hand moved the bow to make them vibrate. You were wrapped in a bubble that Laszlo was too afraid to break, yet couldn't resist admiring. It made him think of his past, when he played the piano. And for once it didn't bring back envy or anger. Simply nostalgia. Only the thrill of the high notes and the passion for each story the symphonies sang.
When you finally reached your last note you opened your eyes. You jumped slightly at the sight of Laszlo standing in the doorway. How long has he been standing there? You didn't even hear the door open!
"Dr Kreizler!" You spoke, putting your hand to your chest still holding your bow.
He looked flustered for a second before smiling.
"My apologies. I never meant to startle you. I came by to pick up some documents but… I couldn't resist admiring your performance."
You blushed at the compliment. Admiring? Did he like it?
"Thank you… I appreciate it." You answered with an honest smile.
Laszlo seemed to think for a second. He fidgeted with his fingers while trying to find the right words.
"Would you be my guest for dinner tomorrow night?"
Your eyes widened in shock. Was he asking you out?
"We could discuss music and other… things."
You smiled a bit. The doctor was usually so eloquent but right now he seemed to try his best to find his word.
"I would be honored Dr Kreizler."
You smiled at him, as he smiled back at you.
The next day, you were thrilled at the idea of dining with Laszlo. You had gone through all your dresses mentally to pick up the best one. You didn't want to embarrass him as he insisted on taking you to a restaurant. More than anything you were so happy to get a chance at knowing him better. Sara kept smirking at your obvious nervousness.
When night came, you stood at your door as the carriage arrived. You had picked your prettiest dress. And Laszlo found you stunning, the compliment making your cheeks burn.
The restaurant was beautiful, expensive, you felt tiny, but Laszlo kept you grounded to him. You found yourself easily discussing, always finding new topics. He complimented you again on your skills and you blushed again. You enjoyed these moments, where questions on each other's hobbies were easily answered and led to many more questions, unraveling each other's personalities. You could feel yourself becoming more and more entranced by him, and little did you know that he was more and more fascinated by you. You were a little sad when the night came to an end. The ride back in the carriage was still filled with your constant conversations.
When the time came to finally let you go, Laszlo walked you to your door. Unable to tear his eyes from you, his mind raced trying to find an idea to see you again in such an intimate setting.
"Thank you Laszlo, I had a wonderful time tonight." You said as your eyes never left his gaze.
"I'm glad. So did I." He said taking a deep breath before asking:
"Would you be my date for the opera this weekend?"
You watched as a very light blush spread across his cheeks, and you smiled. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest.
"Of course. I'd love to."
Laszlo nodded with a smile, before taking your hand to drop a soft kiss on the back of it.
You could feel your own blush spreading across your cheeks and chest. You bid yourselves good night as you walked inside. You let your back rest against the front door, head back, biting your lip. Laszlo smiled brightly jumping in the carriage. The same thought running across both your minds:
