So I was surfing the web one day when I found this screenshot of an early version of B-Positive, apparently Hate-Mace was originally going to be an ordinary weapon instead of a weaponized sidekick, and that the sidekick role was going to go this weird blob named “Blunk.”
Blunk would pretty much just say things like “Blunk hate alien”, basically a repeat of whatever Hatemonger says in a more simple form. I also heard that he was removed because of mysterious reasons, and when Tom and Don were asked about Blunk, they simply said “Blunk was a great idea in our heads, but due to mysterious reasons, we decided to give the sidekick role to the Hate-Mace, because of mysterious reasons we cannot explain!” They also considered having Blunk appear as a cameo, but due to mysterious reasons, they couldn’t do that either.
It’s a bit unfortunate that these reasons are why Blunk will never see the light of day again, at least his legacy lives on in the Hate-Mace, because without Blunk, the Hate-Mace would’ve been a boring old mace, and nobody likes boring old non-talking maces. We like to hear their voices!
