upright: yashar 3477 (Hebrew) straight, level, righteous; by extension, that which is morally right and pleasing before God. It speaks to physical alignment, ethical integrity, and social justice. God's own divine character. supplies the fixed reference point that defines "upright," such as obeying God's revealed law. Relativism, human self-reference, has deadly consequences, and leads to demands for a king.

establish: kun 3559 (Hebrew) prepare, make firm, set up, fix; it expresses firmness, stability, preparation, and establishment of God's creative action and the certainty of His promises. It is also a call to decisive alignment of the inner life with God's revealed will, not trusting in man's fleeting schemes but on principles God has made firm.
