   “I dun need yer help with this; I said I got it!”

   “No, you obviously don’t! Just look at this matted mess! Have you even washed your hair before? This is disgusting!”

   Shadow grunted, trying to squirm away from Blue’s sudsy hand. “Stooopp,” he complained, pushing him away. “’Course I’ve washed before.” Maybe. He didn’t really remember. Personal hygiene wasn’t exactly on the top of his ‘I care about this’ list.

   Blue scoffed loudly, rolling his eyes. “Oh, like I believe that,” he muttered, tugging Shadow back by his ear, earning a loud yelp. “Now, sit still. Just be glad I’m only washing your hair,” he paused, the corner of his lips twitching upwards. “For now, at least.” 

   “Ack, no, please-!” the purple-haired boy cringed slightly, but managed to sit still for a bit. His ear was hurting anyways. “I can do it myself!”

   “I don’t care~” Blue hummed, pushing both of his hands back into Shadow’s soapy hair, massaging his thick fingers against his scalp and forehead. “Just relax for a bit. I’m not trying to hurt you or anything.”

   Damn Blue and his stupid voice and his stupid fingers and his stupid humming. Shadow grumbled lowly under his breath, hunching his shoulders up. A loud sigh could be heard from behind him, and the fingers moved from his hair down to his upper back. Blue gripped his shoulders and veeerry slowly began to knead them into his back.

   “I said relax…”

   It wasn’t too long before his shoulders slumped and he leaned back into Blue’s hands. “Mrrn…” 

   Blue chuckled lowly from behind, his ears twitching slightly. “There we go~” he cooed, playfully patting Shadow’s cheek with a soapy hand. “That wasn’t too hard, now was it?”

   Shadow grunted in response, turning his head a bit. “Sh’ddup,” he murmured, his ears twitching as Blue rubbed behind them. “N-nrmr…” he shivered a bit, melting back against Blue’s hands as he went back to cleaning his hair. A soft rumbling sounded up in the back of his throat as he relaxed.

   There was a minute of silence and purring.

   “So… are you… purring, or is that just my imagination?” Blue grinned a bit, rubbing the pads of his fingers into his scalp, getting it as clean as possible.

   “Shut it.”

   “Aw, c’mon, it’s cute~” the hero snickered, pushing some hair out of Shadow’s eyes. He booped his nose, getting bubbles all over it. “Now rinse off, I’m finished with your hair.”

   Shadow grunted, clearing his throat with a loud cough. Stupid purring. Stupid Blue. He huffed and ducked his head under the bath water, running his fingers through his hair, getting all the soap out. He surfaced with a small gasp, shaking his head.

   “H-hey, don’t do that!” Blue sputtered, pushing Shadow’s head under the water again. “You’re getting me all wet!” He released his head after a couple seconds, not wanting him under for too long. It wasn’t like he wanted Shadow to drown, after all.

   Shadow coughed, spitting water out of his mouth. He glared at Blue behind drenched bangs that hung in front of his eyes. “Fucker,” he muttered unhappily.

   Blue snickered slightly, running a hand through Shadow’s hair to push the wet bangs back. “Maybe you need a haircut, too.”

they are both such huge cuddlers omg but if I had to pick one itd definitely be shadow. like, he craves attention and love so MUCH but doesnt know how to ask for it? solution: crawl into bed with blue and snuggle up close to him, no questions asked, no explanation

nhnn im gonna say blue, cause shadow (being a shadow creature and all) is nocturnal and usually asleep during the day anyway, but after adjusting to the Hylian sleep-at-night schedule, hes gonna be sleeping in very late, because he’s just used to it. lmao plus blue likes to watch shadow sleep, cause he’s all calm and at peace and holy shit he trusts me enough to sleep with me
