The objectum flag is made up of 6 colors; five stripes with a big circle in the middle. While doing exact color matches wasn't something I wanted to do, I still hope it's recognizable.

When Casper mentioned wanting a quilt, I started brainstorming some different ideas and landed on the OS flag. We are both OS and it's a big part of our identities and relationship.

Then I had the idea to make each square a different object (within reason)!

So... What fabrics did I use?

Blue:

Lighthouses (Etsy link)

I don't see love for lighthouses very often, and I was unable to find a boat fabric I liked, so this is what I settled on to represent all things maritime.

Water (Etsy link)

I know of multiple people who consider water their partner

Circuitboard (Spoonflower)

Represents all technology, machinery, and things like computer programs

Wind turbines (Spoonflower)

Know a couple people who have wind turbine partners. Also they're sexy.

Grey:

Desperately tried to find some Nissan fabric to represent Casper's object partner (Miss Tuxedo Latte the 2018 Nissan Sentra) but was unable to find some. So pretend this fabric is a schematic of her

Construction vehicles (Etsy link)

Big and sexy, and also just cool. Pattern was fun too

City/buildings (Spoonflower)

I know several OS people into specific buildings and cities

Represents all things metal, industrial, or otherwise "manmade"

White:

For all people into theme parks and their attractions. Specifically cut to represent flat rides and roller coasters (plus Casper and I initially bonded over finding coasters attractive, so it deserves a spot here)

To represent objects as a whole

Pattern was cute and it's a unique object so I wanted to include something atypical

Yellow:

Represents a long time mutual who has a large construction machine partner

I know there's debate if plants count as OS but they're pretty and one of my close friends uses sunflowers as symbolism for their partner, so that's why I picked them

Purple:

Because satellites are beautiful, and I wanted something to represent those who are into rockets and/or conceptum for space and spacial phenomenon

Computers/laptops (Spoonflower)

Needs no explanation. Computers are The objectum object of all time on this website

Currently editing a video version of the process and want to get better photos of the quilt sometime, but that's all for now. I want to make a larger version of this someday and think it could be fun to source fabric from the community to represent more people's objects. But we'll see if I ever get back to that idea (I have two different ideas I want to get to first).
