It had been a few days since Hanahaki had started spreading around Wonderland. Gokudera had never heard about the disease before but all he knew for certain was that he was completely safe from it.Â
What he had read so far on it was that it was a disease that was brought upon by one sided love. How childish honestly. Gokudera would have to be in love to get the disease and in love he was not. It was why he had gone out to grab a bite to eat with Yamamoto that day, no fear what-so-ever in his heart about the illness and no real bother to even want to deal with those affected.
And the soreness in the back of the throat he had started feeling a day after everything went down was just caused by a cold he had caught obviously.Â
“You know, who even comes up this stuff? I’ve seen it happen and a part of me still doesn’t believe people are actually randomly coughing up those flower petals.” Gokudera spoke outload so as Yamamoto could hear him as he took a bite of his burger ignoring the pain that had been building up in his chest.
Since he had woken up that day, the soreness in his throat had gotten worse and a new symptom had developed. He had felt a pain in his chest that kept growing the more he fought off trying not to cough and give into whatever ailment he had gotten. A part of him feared that it had to do with his old smoking habits, which only gave him a greater reason to want to ignore it at least until he parted ways with the baseball player.Â
“Oh and also, I’m honestly starting to hate how this place is a UMA hot bed. Makes it feel like we’re actually the UM-” He had stopped midsentence as the struggle had gotten too much and let himself relieve the pressure build up in his lungs. He had quickly turned away from the taller male and covered his mouth with his hand.Â
He had thought relieving the build up would painless, but somehow it had actually been a lot worse than he had expected it to be, and with the pressure release in the form of coughing, he felt something else coming up with it, something he was afraid to look at. But as he pulled his hand away, he stared in shock at the beautiful blue petals that covered his hand.
