âPlease,â Tamaki Suoh pleaded. His throat burned from the lack of hydration as he ran through the humid summer air. His throat also burned from desperation, hoping, longing that Haruhi was here and well. âPlease let me see Haruhi Fujioka if sheâs here.â
The male had just been cleared to return home, the after-effects of his transformation no longer being an issue. He was back to normal for the most part. His eyes were sunken, still sensitive to the bright sunlight and overcome with the distraught that continued to plague his mind. And it wasnât until he returned to his complex that he saw the papers that the Killing Joke had been captured and that victims were now at the hospital.
And then that was all that filled his mind.
The blond was worried that he was accidentally going to yell at the nurse at the desk, his emotions coming full halt as he tried to find his beloved. He was too desperate, too anxious, but he needed answers. Tamaki needed to know if Haruhi was here. And if she wasnâtâhe wasnât sure what he would do.
In a last ditch effort he roughly tugged on the hem of his shirt, exposing his collarbone. âIâm her soulmate. At least let me know that sheâs here and well. Please.â Tamakiâs throat felt scratchy as he leaned forward, his hands clasping into fists. He just needed to grab onto something. But then a miracle happened.
They told him that he could see her.
Another nurse led him to the room, and he looked at her expectantly as he glanced at the room number. Dryness cursed his mouth now, and it felt like he was going to swallow his tongue if he didnât get anything to drink soon. But there wasnât any time for that.Â
Slowly he opened the door and allowed it to quietly close behind him as his eyes drifted towards the bed. âHaruhiâŚ?â he said quietly, his voice unable to hold any strength in the vulnerability of finally being able to see her again. The sound of crying pulled his attention from the bed and he saw her sitting on the floor.
His tongue finally caught in her throat as bile threatened to spill from his mouth. A part of him was so relieved at seeing her, but her disheveled state horrified him. While he was sitting away and being useless, she had been in the Killing Jokeâs captivity having whatever happen to her. How could he face her? How could he not help her?
These questions plagued his mind in the split second that he stared at her. But he was only able to say one thing. A stupid statement that definitely wasnât the best for the moment. âHaruhi, youâre crying.â
Haruhi had heard the door open but she didnât care anymore, whoever walked in wouldnât be Tamaki, even if she hoped and prayed it would be. He had been literally dying last she had seen him and if he was anywhere in the hospital if he were still alive, she knew heâd be in the ICU fighting for his life.Â
If it was Kaoru or Kyoya visiting she hoped they would understand that she didnât want to see them, hoped that they would see her in this state and just give her space but she knew they wouldnât, they couldnât, because they cared about her too much. But if she were to see them right now, she wouldnât be able to handle whatever expression they may carry when sheâd finally ask them about Tamakiâs condition. Sheâd been so lost in herself and her feelings of despair that she hadnât even heard the voice she had longed most to hear when it called out her name.Â
Her shoulders shook as she let the tears she had held onto during her time held captive out. All the worry, fear and dread finally seeping out as she had no hope to hold onto now with the lack of information she had, and the fear of finding out her worst fears. Yet despite her sobs, this time she had finally heard the voice behind. Tears streaming down her face, she turned slowly behind her, terrified that she was now just finally losing her mind from stress and everything else sheâd been through. That fear only hightened as her eyes locked onto Tamakiâs.Â
She knew he couldnât be real, he couldnât be standing there as if he hadnât been near death, and the fact that he was paler than usual didnât help at all. Wonderland had so many unknowns and instantly her mind and rushed to the conclusion that she was staring at the ghost of her fated and her heart broke even more.
âno.....no please tell me....please tell me your not dead Tamaki please!â She cried out desperately, as she tried to reach out to him but lost strength in her body to do so, instead falling to the floor. Â
