VĂctor Ălvarez is an Afro-Latino (Black Dominican) hero, the pugnacious Power Man; when a villain attacked his neighborhood, Victor was left trapped in the rubble of his home & absorbed parts of his dad's trademark eyewear, which granted him the power to absorb ambient chi energy from the environment (ie gaining knowledge, physical power, energy strikes, etc); as the son of the late criminal gangster Shades, he started out resenting Luke Cage, but in time, his heroic path has led him to team w/ Iron Fist, Cage, several Avengers teams (+ Avengers Academy), the Champions & Thunderbolts!
