Proud as hell to see our artist Jackie with a HUGE spread in the NEW Tattoo Magazine! I've known her and then her friend for almost 9 years now, and she has accomplished so much just in the past two or three years that it's incredible and inspiring. Proud to work next to this lady! Some people think that you can't realize you're bi/gay/les/trans in the middle of your life... that you have to be born knowing. I was not born knowing that I was bisexual until my current age of 16 (well I was kind of questioning at the end of being 15 but I wasn't sure and I was kinda scared)... I didn't even know about homosexuality until I was 12 or 13... no one every told me about it and it never even occurred to me. I'm not straight simply because I didn't have the knowledge that it was okay or even possible to love whoever you wanted... I was freaked out by the idea for a while because it was something new that startled me and I had a right to be startled. As soon as I properly thought about it it made perfect sense and I was very in love with gay/lesb/bi couples... later I learned about transexuality and by then I was more open and accepted it immediately. I am bisexual despite my lack of knowledge as a child... this is kind of a controversial post I know and I'm practically asking for haters to come scream at me but I wanted to make a point. I agree that you can't change who you are and that you're born a certain way... but that doesn't mean that you don't learn new things about yourself. Say you had never tried Indian food... never even HEARD of Indian food... and then someone takes you to an Indian restaurant and you're a little reserved "oh I don't know what this is, what if I don't like it? I wish we had gone to that Mexican place that I love.." and then you take a bite and its the greatest thing you've ever tasted and now it's what you eat every day! Or every other day... it's kinda like that (though it was a very crappy example) but with love.
