“ Very. “ His tone was curt, not at all pleased to be on the receiving end of a favor from someone. He’d rather if the other had just buried some more rubble on top of him and let him suffocate. But now he owed the other a debt.

He wasn’t someone who wandered away when he owed something.

Sora’s chaotic nature was something that really shouldnt surprise him at this point. The boy was chaos and damage incarnate, with far too much time on his hands to create explosives and god knows what else it was that he had on him. So when the brunet wandered into his office with a box and all but singing, it was enough to have the silveret quirking an eyebrow.

Akira was so excited, he’d gotten to the first place in his school! He had the best scores of the rest of his classmates and couldn’t wait to show his parents what he’d accomplished. They always talked about how he needed to be the best, his mom was a doctor and his dad did work in an office. They were smart and he wanted to be just like them when he got older. Maybe he could be a doctor too, work with his mom. All he had to do was get his notebooks from on top of the cleaning cabinet and he would be ready to go.

The young boy was hardly a stranger to bullying, but he never really minded it. His dad always said that if he gave into the bullies that he would never get anywhere in life, and it made sense! So he just let them do what they wanted, tried not to react too much, and went home a little late when he had to keep getting his stuff from places too high for him.

It didn’t matter, he had his copy of the school’s test scores safely hidden on him and the bullies never were physical. He could show his parents the paper when he got home!

The first thing he heard when he got home was his mother chastising him for being late, how she had things to do and that she couldn’t wait for him to show up whenever he pleased. It stung him to hear her say it, but he’d learned that she didn’t care why he was late, just that he was late. They both knew about the bullies harassing him, but it didn’t really seem to change their expectations of him.

So when he shows them both the test scores before dinner, they both seem impressed for a moment, before telling him that he missed questions, his score wasn’t perfect. 

Do better.

Be the best.

Let no one stop you.

Akira will admit later that he was upset that they didn’t congratulate him, but all he knew was that he needed to do better if he wanted the praise he craved. He didn’t let the disappointment bother him, just ran up to his room to go over the questions he’d missed. 

He’d do better, see his mom and his dad be excited about his scores. All he had to do was work a little harder. 

For once, Akira could say he actually understood the confusion and curiosity that his classmates in high school must have felt. The boy in his college class was definitely one that stood out to him, and he said a silent apology to his former classmates. But unlike them, he had an opportunity to get to know the boy, Ryuji being loud and pushy as he ever was.

The boy had started the day begging to ditch class, asking for Akira to go to the arcade with him, not wanting to sit in a boring lecture for hours then sit and read for more. Ever the guiding force in his friend’s lives, the bespectacled boy took hardly a moment to tell Ryuji that they were on scholarships, and ditching could put that in jeopardy. It brought about a lot of whining, about how one class wouldn’t hurt, where was his sense of adventure. The only way he could get the other boy to quiet down about it was to promise to go with him after their lectures.

Meeting after class, Ryuji had seen the brunette look at him and Akira for all of three seconds before boldly calling out to him and saying that he was formally invited to join them at the arcade and that he wasn’t taking no for an answer.

Ever the brash and loud one, Akira gave the other an apologetic look from behind his friend, calling a calm “ You don’t have to if you don’t want to. “

“ Ryuji’s feeling withdrawal, my adopted sister normally talks about all of this with him, but she’s focusing on school and doesn’t have as much time to right now. My name is Akira by the way. “ A simple introduction, it never hurt to have additional friends in college.

“ nor would it hurt to have any friends outside the thieves, little trickster. “

Akira ignored his Shadow, Arsene rejoining him when it was clear the toll that Satanael took on him was a little too much for every day use. He could have that conversation with the other later, when they took another trip to Mementos to make sure things hadn’t gone bad while he was focusing on classes.

They’d planned to go to Mementos today, to work on some teamwork and make sure that no one was losing their touch. Akechi wouldn’t be joining them, the previous trip to Mementos having traumatized him enough between their inane chatter and Akira’s own madman-esque driving. It’d been two days since then, and while they were supposed to be going for the group ( and because if he didn’t get them to blow off steam, their plan might go belly up ), it was clear that at least one member was not in a good enough state to join them.

“ Change of plans. Makoto you are in charge, no further than floor 10, ok? Namine is not coming with you, and I’m making sure she isn’t going to follow out of stubborn pride. “ No, he wouldn’t miss when someone was dead on their feet, and the tone he took was clear there would be no argument on this matter. Barely waiting for her to repeat the instructions and to allow Morgana out of his bag, Akira was a moment from picking up their teammate and carrying her back to LeBlanc to rest.

It was only when the rest of them were gone to Mementos that he would usher her down the stairs and ask quietly which train she needed to take to get home. He’d made sure that she was home safe and ready to ride out whatever illness it was she’d picked up, before he went back to LeBlanc himself.

So Sephiroth has a kinda weird relationship with sleep? He really does love to sleep but it’s not something he can indulge in very often. He spends a lot of time working and making sure that everything is to his standards, and that often times interferes with his sleeping patterns. 

◐ : My muse and animals. (If they like animals and treat them well, do not care for them at all, e.t.c.).

Sephiroth actually quite likes animals, though he never really got the chance to interact with them when he was young. He is particularly fond of cats and dogs, though there are plenty of others he has not had the opportunity to interact with. Though he hasn’t really gotten to take care of one, he would likely spoil them rotten. Dogs will be well trained so he doesn’t have to deal with barking for no reason and can trust them to be alone when he’s on missions or is otherwise busy. Cats would be ideal for him because they do not need as much exercise that he cannot give them.

Of all the things that he’d expected someone so young to say, that was not it. Sure, he was young and he had come to loathe the whole of the country that he’d sworn to serve, because it’d stolen his father first, then his mother, ruined all the memories that he had from his childhood, and made him feel that he was unable to trust nearly anyone.

So he did understand, but he was confused as well.
