The occasion was just ramping up for the night as guests filtered into the castle through the grand doors. The emperor hung out by a pillar, quietly observing passerby from behind his physical mask. It took Belos a moment to recognize the witch hovering around the drinks table, almost not noticing her due to the lack of the trademark green hair. Still, he could spot a Blight anywhere, given the family's unique contributions to his arsenal.
He pondered his next steps. If the rumors that got back to his fortress were true, this was the Blight that had stirred up a few issues for him, if by association with the human that had come to be troublesome. Still, it payed to play his cards well. He felt there was no need for animosity, at least not unprompted. The wooden staff in his hand was a reminder of the precariousness of his situation.
"I was not aware there were other witches here," Belos remarked politely, voice barely rising above the clamor of the crowd as he walked up behind Amity. "I hope you are faring well here."
