Friday was International Guillemot Appreciation Day! Can't believe I missed it again, but really, shouldn't everyday be guillemot appreciation day? Here's some BLGU art I created for National Audubon's Seabird Institute.

"I remember asking a Slovak diplomat some 15 years ago whether he saw his country as a bridge between East and West and he dismissed this suggestion quickly, noting that one does not want to live on a bridge, it is neither here nor there."

The 5 of us are together once again at the Balkans, let's get up! Final conference in Belgrade. We are so excited to meet all the lovely BLGU people for this great occasion! Also, we would like to thank Leila Records and Books for being such nice hosts of our exhibition!
It's nice living here in the countryside. I mean, it is nice for those who are willing to work, to earn for their own food, but the pensions are low. People who live on their pensions can’t live normally. That is clear. Those who are cultivating their own land, or those who have their own cows, or sheep, they can’t stay hungry at least. That is the same everywhere. Here and anywhere, that’s what it’s like.
Life here is bad, of course. About 5% of people live normally, the rest live abnormally. Almost without any income. With these politicians there is definitely no possible agreements. And definitely nobody should vote, really. Nobody should vote! No matter, orthodox, catholic, Bosniak. We all have to eat, right? We all have to work, and to earn in order to eat, right? Nobody gives that opportunity to you in this country. And corruption…Starting from the cleaning lady, upwards, all the way to the end. The law should be passed, and if not, then imposed: this set that is in charge from after the war until now can not participate in politics. The next elections are in 2014. These politicians can’t run for elections, as well as anyone older than 35, 36. That’s something this country needs in order for the generation that’s just being born to see the changes.
