We are making 50 of these to hand out this Christmas to the homeless. It's an easy and much needed way to give back. It was sobering realizing that these few things are also a luxury. Saturday's "Pack and Play" at That's a Wrap!! The intention with using her space was to expose my volunteers to another black woman in business. We need to see it in action in variety. She has a dope space. Thank you to the sister Mia at That's a Wrap! for opening up her doors and allowing us to use her space for Umi Feeds. Together, Shasta White McGriff Martha Davidson Omi Yvonne, Sylvester and Candace assembled 100 hygiene packs to give away to the homeless at the next feeding, April 7th at Safehouse Outreach. I had so much fun putting these together! Good food, good company (literally and figuratively) and a good cause. Thank you Gary Lovelace for the book donation! It's greatly appreciated. I have a Christmas goal, but I need your help! I was thinking back to when Lily was in the hospital for Christmas two years ago and how a nice Mary Kay rep came by and gave ME a present! She had bags of goodies for all the moms on the floor and that was so nice and sweet. I found out a little about how she was able to do that and I'm interested in doing the same this year. I would like to get together at least 100 Blessing Bags for the moms staying with their kids in Texas Children's Hospital this Christmas. The cost to sponsor a bag is $25. The bags will include a Jamberry lacquer or Nourish hand creme, a Starbucks gift card, hair ties, Chapstick, and some chocolates and candy canes. Please consider donating towards this. Each sponsor I get will help one mother who is on the brink of insanity to have a few nice moments.
