I think I saw something somewhere that said that Bon doesn’t really pay attention to Billy and often forgets their name, and one of the names he calls Billy is “Lily”, since they sound so similar…
Lily is Charles’s daughter,
Boozoo is really close to Billy…
And Charles possesses the Boozoo animatronic…
This probably makes zero sense but imagine Charles, while possessing Boozoo, taking care of the Billy animatronic because he’s so desperate to care for his daughter as a purpose to keep going, but can’t actually get close to his daughter any more so he settles for taking care of a character she’s been compared to.
And then, years later when Ashley is shoved and eventually possesses the Billy animatronic, Charles/Boozoo just doubles down on the above and goes into extra protective care mode… :’(
