So, about the Binding of Shadows scene… it stands out to me as odd because Bleden Mark’s bracer isn’t a new thing. He’s been wearing it (two of them, if we take the wedding shackle lore into account) since before Kyros pressed him into service; presumably, he hasn’t taken this one off since then. The Fatebinder has known him for decades, been mentored by him, trained in close quarters with him - I doubt he’s been covering it up all that time, so why are they both acting as if the PC’s never seen it before?
This could just be the first time they’ve been bold enough to comment on it (out of character in Kit’s case, though!), but I choose to believe it looks different to the Fatebinder post-Mountain Spire because they can see magical patterns that were invisible to them before. Maybe it did seem relatively innocuous at first! The fact that the Fatebinder’s Archon abilities seem to centre around being able to perceive, interpret, and copy patterns of magic on a massive scale (those Spire scenes where you witness currents of magic flowing across Terratus) bears this out for me. It’s a new way of sensing the world and they’re still getting used to it.
