So I am pretty far from being anti-team USA by tumblr standards, and in general I don’t really see the fun of rooting against a particular team (I’m thinking also of NCAA teams that I do not enjoy at all, but don’t actively want to see lose)…but holy shit are team US stans joyless lmfao

oh btw health care in the philippines fucking sucks. like i try not to think about it too much everytime i have to shell out a not-insignificant amount of cash each time i go to therapy because most health insurance companies tied to private employment do not cover mental health. some of them don't cover covid swab tests, mine didnt. and very few local govt units cover covid-related tests or isolation facilities. dont even get me started on how much it costs to get hospitalized here. i have friends who's 2m pesos (USD 40K) in debt after their dad got hospitalized for covid, got intubated, recovered then died from heart failure. it's ridiculous! and then you hear about corruption within the dept of health among other govt agencies and you're just feeling absolutely helpless and disgusted at the system as you send your friend whatever extra 500 pesos you have in your gcash account. because all you can really rely on for help are your fellow working class friends who probably have medical debt of their own.
