I was running, running up the stairs, the stairs that surrounded a tower with a giant hollow centre. Both hands are armed, looking back to see whether my tiny companion was keeping up with me. She smiled back at me with an exhausted face. Although I knew how badly she was begging me to catch a breath with those innocent eyes, she knew better not to speak up because something more deadly could probably happen.
I stopped at the best spot I could find, waiting for the right moment that hadn't arrive. The tiny girl sat back and caught her breath behind me. The whining noise of the troublemaker was getting louder. I only told myself I couldn't fail because I was assigned to do this. I tried to breath out my anxiety and told the tiny girl to help me close the irrelevant windows. The noise was getting louder, that meant it was getting closer any minute. I could smell fear from her. However, it was totally not a babysitter hour right now, I told myself. After all, I couldn't help going after her. I double-checked the job I told her to do. I found all the windows were closed, yet unlocked. "Silly me, I only told her to close it, not lock it." I could't help but shaking my head.
"Awwwwwww!! Nahhhhh!!" I heard the scream of a little voice from the other corner. I rushed to where the tiny girl screamed and found the whining troublemaker, a large blazing red flying dragon with rage, appear from nowhere. "Back off!!!!" I heard myself scream out, and I pushed the tiny girl out of the way. Her sound of crying had faded away by the time I realized I was finally facing the dreadful creature I had been training to fight against.
There we were. Face to face. The dragon had stopped whining, I heard him smile. I knew it wasn't a good sign. With no fear, I pulled off the sword of my pride aiming to attack him. Though, everything happened very fast. In the middle of the combat, I found myself injured. My entire right arm was full of scratches, which I assumed they were caused by his full-of-stings and hard-like-stone tale. Without even noticing, my sword of pride dropped down many feet away from me where the tiny girl stood crying with terror. I had to back off and hide the tiny girl and myself. I heard him flying and whining once again. Not so long, I started to hear the crowd. "Thank god, they're back!" I heard myself speak to the crying girl. Her eyes lighted up with hope once again, she gently smiled back to me.
The familiar faces ran to me and thanked me for taking the job. "Don't worry. We can handle it here. Go get healing, we can't risk losing your right arm." One of them told me and pushed me to the other way. I merely smiled and nodded, pulling the sober tiny girl with me. I could see the troops were coming for backup as planned. The injuries were badly sore that I couldn't help but imagine how I would survive during shower times. I chuckled and took a one last glance at the flying red creature surrounded by the troops. As I thought, he stared back right into my eyes as well. I suddenly turned around in puzzle, never be able to read what he was trying say.
