i strongly hc that Aphmau is aromantic in some way. the signs are there in a lotta her interactions, friendships, and with the people she grows close to. hell, i see it very clearly in MT Aphmau. especially considering how she views Aaron as a very important figure in her life, but explicitly not in a romantic way. their bond is so uniquely queerplatonic to me. Aaron considers her in a semi-romantic way, but Aph just doesnt view him like that at all. in the more recebt episodes the line is sadly and unfortunately blurring as time goes on, but damnit!!! i dont want mertales aarmau to get together!! augh!!

anywhomst, the interesting thing is that the same thing applies to MCD Aph. she was very clear in her statements during s1 that; while she has no qualms getting into a relationship, she just doesnt view Laur nor Garroth in that kind of light, at least until season 2. what leads her to liking the two boys isnt her "growing out of her aromanticism," but deciding that she personally wouldnt mind growing closer to them both, and seeing where her strange feelings go. its why her friendship with Laurance is so important to the both of them throughout seasons 1 and 2. its why she never suspected Garroth had any romantic interest in her until he explicitly told her, she always viewed him as a friend, coworker, and confidant.

im not aro myself (i am aspec/asexual, not aroace), nor have i done a ton of research on it, BUT! i just think itd be neat to consider Aph being aromantic. her friendships in a majority of other series are far more defining to her character. at least outside of Mystreet and Alternates.. Alternatesmau you can be more than just a "woman constantly grieving and thinking about how irreplaceable your dead very very dead boyfriend was," sighh..

i still read MS Aph being aromantic, just in a slightly different way. the kind where the line between friendship and romantic feelings are a little blurry, due to her very sheltered upbringing. shes not really interested in relationships, but her deep friendships + first two HORRID examples from Garroth and Laurance lead to her misunderstanding her own feelings in several ways. i wanna dive into this in a more character-analysis-type-way, but i think thats best saved for another day.. the MAIN point im getting at is; i interpret MS Aph as aro, and i think its kinda cool.

now, moving on to Blaze. when i say he has great chemistry with everyone, i mean that both platonically and romantically. Blaze absolutely loves everyone around him!! he thinks all of his friends are gorgeous and handsome and beautiful. out of all the characters, Blaze canonically, in-series flirts with everyone. not in a "playing with their feelings" way. hes genuine. he means it when he says someone looks great. he means it when he likes someone. every compliment is honest. and yet despite his forwardness, he is the DENSEST guy EVER. and i think thats rather cute. he cannot read the room in some circumstances, and thats cool. i think its a great contrast with the fact that he is very smart when it comes to science and mathematics in-universe.

to coincide with my prior points, i like to imagine the contrast between Blaze and Aphmau in these regards. Blaze is super open in loving everyone, and hes always telling his friends how much he loves them, in comparison to Aph who doesnt know if she just likes people as friends, or if shes reading them wrong based on what little she knows about romantic relationships.

and so when she meets Blaze, who is honest, and will always mean it when he calls her cute and pretty, she kinda has a rethink on things with herself. shes not certain if she views him the same way he appears to view her, but she never has any reason to doubt his honest nature. he never tricks her, or lies to her. he encourages her, helps her out when she needs it, lifts her up when shes down, never doubts her incredibleness for a second. and i believe thats something Aphmau would truly appreciate. even if she denies to herself that Blaze is being romantic or flirty in a unique way with her. shes not dumb dumb, but shes very dense, and is also the type to try to ignore things when they overwhelm her a lot.

for Blaze, whenever hes around Aph he just cant help but admire her. shes a little dumb, but pure of heart, and shes always wiling to lend others a hand and reach out when they need it. she puts others above herself despite her inexperience. she means it when she says she cares about her friends. and Blaze admires her for that. she doesnt fit into the highschool norms. shes weird, eccentric, and yet one of the most compassionate people he knows. sure shes easily flustered, but shes also very strong and knows how to stand up for herself. shes powerful and brilliant, and Blaze cant help but slowly fall for her as the two of them interract more.

not to mention outside of just that, the CHEMISTRY blazemau has DRIVES ME INSANE. they bounce off eachother so well!! they make dumb, idiotic, childish jokes that always get their friends laughing. AND NOT ONLY THAT, BLAZE LITERALLY, LEGITIMATELY HAS AN APH-SENSE. when she got scared at the beginning of one of the campsite murder mystery videos, when she got injured at the beginning of a baby hide and seek video, BLAZE SHOWED UP!! BLAZE RAN OVER AS FAST AS HE COULD TO HELP HER!! when she burned her hand he offered to kiss it better himself. when she exclaimed she thought he couldve been a murderer Blaze immediately suggested he could be if she needed that of him. literally its so stupid how much he cares about her and how willing he is to do things just for her. Aphmau says the word and he could do anything she demands. Aphmau gets into danger or barely scrapes her knee and hes already on the scene ready to help her. like come ONN HE IS SO SWEET TO HERR AAUGH!!!

his enthusiasm when Aphmau pulled her regular "cmon lets go make out" as the murderer herself, and his utter blind willingness to go along before everyone exclaimed that shes done this to all of them. and then they still hang out and sit alone and spend time together anyway. he STILL blindly and loyally trusts her, even if he knows she wants to stab him in the back sooo badly.

UGH I KNOW IM DELUSIONAL BUT COME OOONNN DUDE WHY IS. WHY IS BLAZEMAU SO CUTE. WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE TO ME. AUUGHH!!! THEYRE SO DUMB AND FUNKY AND SO SWEET.. OHH OHH AWW CUTESIES..

intriguing turn and twist, i also headcanon that Blaze is leaning-polyamorous, meanwhile Aphmau is more monogamous. Blaze loves everyone, and he would affectionately dote on every single one of his friends if he could. alongside this, Aphmau is very loyal to her friends and any potential partners. i dont believe she would be the type to take on multiple partners in MYST because it would possibly be overwhelming for her. plus i think the flustered embarrassment from being flirted with and teased by two or more people at once would make her very confused and happy and terrified lmao.. though dont worry.. there are many a possibility she maychance partake in a poly relationship huehe..

with Blazemau in mind, i would imagine that shortly after getting together they would have a discussion about it. havent come to a full conclusion just yet, aside from the two of them likely deciding on a closed relationship. (its probably because ive become incredibly biased towards Blazemau and want them to hold hands and snuggle together for all of eternity. but eh thats somethin for me personally to worry about) because im also cruel to myself, i view Blazemau as a REAALLY slow slow-burn. like, it takes them literal years to get together. okay a whole two years maybe. (what maybe i dont want Blazemau to drag out forever.. you dont know how cruel my brain box can be huehe..) Blaze liked her all the way back in high school, but it was much more of a crush. Aphmau always viewed Blaze as a good friend who was always there for her after they connected. the two of them stayed close all throughout high school, university, and Aph's time in Mystreet. they get a little distant for a while, but Blaze always shows up whenever Aph calls, always turns up when she least expects it, and is even willing to drop what hes doing to give her any levels of assistance she needs. Aphmau does her best to return the favour, giving Blaze advice when he needs it, looking out for him the same way he did for her in high school, getting the wolf pups together whenever Blaze suggests a hang-out or some kind of day adventure, and staying over whenever he works on his uni projects just to spend time with him.

in MY devious and despicable Mystreet Rewrite/AU timeline, i would have Blazemau get together either during their senior year at PDH or during Love~Love Paradise. LLP mostly because they would totally get together in a setting like that. the sea breeze, a starry night sky, atop the rooftop of the summer house. i WILL be viewing it and making it as romantic as possible because i LLLLOOOVVEEE THOSE TWO. but ALSO, my good good buddy old pal @berrytbh and i had a lovely discussion about a Blazemauryune double date fic, and now i cant get it out of my head that Blazemau gets together during highschool because of Ryune getting together.. heehehehhe ohh those two ships make me so happy and joyouss heuehe.. also Blazemauryune would be an incredible polycule and would possibly be the sweetest scenario for polyblazemau ever.. both Aph and Rylan get to get flustered by their other partners HUEHEHE

thinking on Blazemau and Ryune separately, Aphmau and Blaze would be two of the BIGGEST wingmen for Rylan and helping him ask out June. Aphmau would encourage Rylan to be comfortable in his own feelings, to simply be himself and be as honest as possible. and as we have graciously seen from Blaze, he gives the wackiest, goofiest advice. most unhelpful wingman ever. he encourages Rylan to be more "buff and manly, loud and obnoxious even!" which is a very intriguing contrast with how Aphmau encourages Rylan. and the coolest part, its all in good faith too!! throughout the Blazemau wingmanning, both June and all the wolf pups would slowly realise that.. oh my!! Blaze and Aphmau have crushes on eachother!! and the comical part to that is Blazemau both have NO idea about their feelings at that point in time. this would logically lead to the wingmen being wingmanned by the entire friend group, and of course theyre still utterly oblivious to it!! affectionate sigh.. theyre so silly..

back to mainly Blazemau, i would like to tack onto their highschool dynamics a little more. these are the classes i think they would take in high school (including the ones they already take in-show-canon)

Aphmau;

General English, Essential Maths, Arts in Practice, Creative Writing, Werewolf 107, Potions and Magical Studies, and HPE

Blaze;

Essential English, Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Science, Physics, Werewolf 107, and HPE

I. Am. Obsessed with giving them such narrative juxtapositions with their classes. i cant help myself. Blaze is the super smart studious and impeccable werewolf, meanwhile Aph is the nerdy, artsy, and sporty type all in one. Blaze is less good with his english and spelling skills, so he noped out of doing general english. this is rather comical if you consider that this man gets As and higher in science and possibly math too. numbers and letters in sequences alongside long sciency words just resonate with him more than having to read Shakespeare, what a Blaze guy.. and to compare, Aphmau loves reading (and writing fanfiction), drawing, and being able to play sport at the same time!! while she does take Potions and Magical Studies, shes not exactly super interested in it. she just likes being able to take the same class as some of her friends, plus she probably treats it like a free period similarly to Werewolf 107.

the only two classes her and Blaze overlap on are HPE and Werewolf 107, the latter against Aphmaus will, and the former because they both really really love sports!! they always get excited to hang out together during those classes, as they get to goof around while mooostly paying attention to any potential lessons at hand. they also LOVE going on opposite teams during PE, as theyre both oftentimes competitive people hehe. Aph enjoys destroying Blaze at soccer whenever the school makes the students do it. Blaze is simply awed and flustered by her brute strength and utter determination to kick his butt!! he loves it!! what he loves even more is kicking her butt at soccer by using his brute strength and utter determination, muahahahaaa!!

im also oftentimes besottedly obsessed with the fact that theyre so similar despite the initial differences between them. Aphmau starts out PDH as a shy, alt-leaning nerd girl who is constantly anxious and struggles with maintaining an outward confidence even on the best of days. shes constantly stressed out by drama and desperate for an inch of peace at school. in comparison, Blaze is outwardly bodacious, headstrong, and the kind to openly express himself without worry nor fear of judgement. he is unapologetically wild and full of life. and yet they are SO SIMILAR in so many ways!!

by PDH s2, Aphmau is much more confident. she looks after the werewolves to the best of her unknowledgeable and human ability, and she selflessly takes on Ein as a friend when no one else would. shes kind, shes sweet, shes loving, shes loyal, and she will always stand up for her friends. once you get to know her, Aph becomes so comfortable and open to be her weird and loveable self! she cracks bad jokes, she can be utterly dense, she breaks into her friends houses to hang out with them during minigames!! what a wonderful woman.. Blaze shares a similar confidence to Aphmau, always willing to take the initiative, never doubting himself for a second. in PDh s2, he is objectively one of the BEST candidates in the entire series to be alpha alongside Aph. he stands up for the wolf pups when theyre being voraciously bullied, just like Aphmau does. theyve been his friends ever since that day. he is so completely loyal and devoted to Daniel, Dottie, and Rylan as friends, he slots into their group in such a sweet at fitting way by the end of the series. once you get to know Blaze a bit closer, you realise that hes very kind, studious, polite even! he respects so many people for so many different reasons, even despite his brazen attitude. and once hes comfortable, Blaze starts to crack all kinds of dumb and stupid jokes. half of what he says is genuine crazy talk, but this guys getting As in shit like science--how is he even passing??? and hes wonderful for that. his insanity is so gleeful.

also theyve both canonically cross-dressed to steal pizza. from each other. and the best part is that they both took a while to realise it was the other at their respective sleepovers. Aphmau going as Adrian, her canon genderswaps name, while Blaze goes as "Blazé," pronounced blaa-ZAY. like. he wasnt even tryinggg dude no wonder the girls caught onto him so damn quickly ToT but also.. like DAMNN they cross-dressed to go to a sleepover party for PIZZA, while also coincidentally being the only two who willingly and openly chose to cross-dress. hrmm.. almost like.. they wanted to see eachother.. huehuehuehehe.. oh theyre both such doofuses, such idiots, awwwawwaw..

while yes i definitely absolutely DO have more to say about them.. this post has been in my drafts for like three whole ass months ToT kraycee what have you been doingggg dude.. i really really love Blazemau, and i love that other people can look on and appreciate it too hehe!! they may be my silly little ship that never stood a chance, but i love how sweet and endearing the two characters are on their own too!! from everything ive gone over and thought about in regards to them, PDH/MYST/minigames Blazemau is genuinely just. one of the healthiest ships in the entire Aphverse. like its not even close actually, they get on so well, have great communication, are the biggest dorks ever, AND they get along with each others friends super well!! while in any relationship there will be conflict and flaws and growth, Blazemau feels like a relationship that could persevere through all of it and come out as the best versions of themselves at the end of it all. honestly, thats how i view almost every version of Blazemau. MCD Blazemau has the MOST angst potential, but they would also create so much character growth for eachother. MerTales Blazemau is like giving me a gold mine for free of all kinds of brilliant and beautiful tropes to throw at them giddily, gleefully, and with so much deviousness that im already mentally rubbing my hands together like a gremlin. oh they have soooo sooo soo sooooo much potential and Jessica THREW IT ALL AWAY WHYY WHYY JESS WHY MUST YOU BE BLIND TO HOW AMAZINGLY RELEVANT THE PIRATE PUPS COULD BE WHYY AUUGHHGWDGH!!
