#blastback!

hi!! this is a project i’m working on, and could become a potential webcomic!  my current working title is ‘Blastback!’ and its a project that borrows elements from d&d 5e.

the basic premise is 5 random teenagers are ripped from their modern world with technology like ours (that runs on magic) and thrown back into the past.  together, they have to find what, or who, did this and how to get back to their time.  in the meantime, they go on adventures and learn how to survive as adventurers.

(okay so, just a heads up, half-orcs in this world/time mature at 18 instead of 14 because it’s just easier for me okay lksadl)

kizi is an 18 year old half-orc.  she is rather shy and reserved but has a strong moral compass that leads her to be very protective.  she lived with her grandmother, who she took care of most of the time.  she is very much a worrywart and tends to be very motherly.  at the time she was sucked out of her time, she had just started to go on an afternoon walk that she almost didn’t take because she worried something would happen to her grandmother if she left her side.  needless to say, when she found out she wouldn’t be returning to her grandmother in any time soon, she did not take well to it.

valor is a 17 year old tiefling.  they are outgoing, talkative, easy-going, and extremely enthusiastic and involved with what they love: musical theater.  they lived with their parents and two younger brothers, all of whom are tieflings in a place where there are about 2 other tieflings besides themselves.  they ignore all the sneers and distrustful looks, and it’s not like these can be avoided because they’re tall, wide, and loudly themself.  who needs to care about what other people think about them anyway?  it’s not that big of a deal, so they don’t need to deal with it.  they’d rather help other people with their problems.  when valor was sucked out of their time, they had just gotten fully dressed as their character for a musical rehearsal, who happened to be a bard.  kinda confused the others at first.

mirelle is a 17 year old half-elf.  he prides himself in his useless funfacts and has a particular interest in looking at old spell books.  though, he tends to be completely oblivious in most situations.  he lived with his drow mother and uncle, his mother working as a nurse and uncle running a medicinal shop that he helps out in on weekends and all summer.  his father is away on business.  he openly shares facts, thoughts, and feelings, and can become rather blunt.  he finds no use in lying, because lying just becomes way too messy and not worth it, and this has caused problems in the past.  when he was sucked out of his time, he had just gone to the backroom of his uncle’s shop.  his confusion, and curiosity, for what happened to him and the others has no end.

rynnyss is an 18 yer old dwarf.  she seems loud, brave and borderline cocky, oozing confidence out of her pores.  she lived by herself, and has for a while, living in a cycle of ‘wake up, eat, go to work, come home, and sleep’.  she’s quick to act first, think later, and doesn’t weigh the consequences fully.  her first response to the situation they were all forced into was anger, but something clicked in her mind (not that she’d share) and she was all confidence and nonchalance.  it’s like she takes none of her actions seriously.  she doesn’t share all that much about herself before she was with the group, and it’s obvious that there’s something either missing or fabricated about the way she acts.

cassia is a 15 year old halfling.  she actually is confident and proud, and she does as she pleases.  she excitedly tells the others about how she catfishes poor elves on an elves-only dating website for money, and even has multiple tds* to do this.  she’s clever, like how she can tell if someone is catching onto her, but she’s not exactly smart enough to realize that what she does is kinda awful.  she lives with her dad, who is more often than not at work, so she takes care of herself a lot of the time.  she is equally boastful about her gymnastics skills, showing off her flexibility every chance she can.  she can put on a good show of just being an innocent young girl who has done no wrong.  she was pretty freaked out at first at the situation she ended up in but she knows there’s nothing to be done for now (but then again it didn’t really click with her that she was in the past until a while later, even though it had been discussed thoroughly.)

there is another main character, a young gnome cleric, but i didn’t include him in this set because he actually is from the time that they got transported to.  i’ll post about him later :3c

so, if this does become a comic, here’s how the dnd elements will come into play:  i’ll create the situation and i will actually play it out like i’m playing dnd...with myself...and roll for actions.  it’ll be like i’m the dm but also all the pcs.
