Blanchette! ✨She's a snooty, siamese cat from a lavish upbringing, and she prefers to not get her hands dirty.

First/Second Ascension Rhodopis would be very confused at what Cinder-Eli’s doing and why she’s dressing up as her. Then her Self-Doubt(TM) would set in and she starts to wonder if Elizabeth would be better at Cinderella-ing at her and be more worthy of the ‘Queen of All Fairy Tales’ title, even though it’s painfully obvious she’s not.

Final Ascension Rhodopis would be flattered at Elizabeth wanting to be her for Halloween, but also kinda concerned that her attitude is leaning more towards her stepsisters.

Cate Blanchette has never been better. She was perfectly casted in this and is a delight on all fronts. That is not to say this movie landed on the runway successfully, however.

Tár is about Lydia Tár, who is a renowned musician and composer who is days away from recording the symphony that will elevate her career to the next level. But things don't go completely to plan.

The film is shot in very pleasant locations with a nice color pallette all around. The film's editing flowed very nicely. And in the beginning this started with a very promising lead from Blanchette. It seemed she really nailed her role here.

After the strong opening with very intense social commentary-filled dialogue, the film seemed to not keep it's footing and slowly slid down the hill into the confusing territory ahead.

As well as Cate Blanchette was able to nail her role, the story lacked the substance it had in the first half. It just slowly got worse as the film went on.

I do appreciate them highlighting Blanchette here in a very nice looking and well shot film, they just didn't put enough cohesiveness and closure to truly let this film shine.

Overall, the movie looked great but lacked the substance and closure it needed to tie the film together.

as reassuring as that should have been it the moment it wasn’t.  with trouble looming a few feet ahead in the form of an overly angry thug who'd rather look for a fight than accept an apology. she'd rather be told ‘ gotcha, it’s a prank. ’ .  “ thank you, but–” she began trying to think of how quick they’d have to be to make a run for it into the crowd on the street and away from their stressful situation. “ let’s try running first.”  tugging on the girl’s sleeve to follow her.
