The new SMG4 episode, The Lil' Fellas, has references to someone's fan made MxM (Mario X Meggy) kids that Mario is frequently holding, thanks to Medi.

For the last fucking time, MxM by definition is a pro ship because while they may currently be close in age, Mario is incapable of aging, but Meggy has been aging this whole time. They met when Meggy was 15 and Mario was 25. Mario is still 25 and Meggy is almost 23. She's one of the few characters that can age, alongside SMG4 himself. Mario knew Meggy as a teenager while he was an adult. Dating someone who you've watched grow up is weird as fuck.

If they had met within the past few years, it would be okay, but they met back in 2017, almost 8 years ago, and that's a long time for a young person. The age they were when they met matters just as much as the actual age gap. Besides, Mario and Meggy have very sibling like behavior in many episodes. Them dating would be weird as fuck for that reason too.

Apparently, Luke was the one to contact Zam about a new series centered around Mr. Puzzles, as he always felt there was more that could be done with the character.

SMG4 became such a Puzzles centered show from 2024-2025 and had left the rest of the SMG4 crew in the dust, and this is partly due to the new writers that had been hired had not previously looked at older SMG4 videos, and I'm not just talking about the beginnings of SMG4, I mean even the huge story arcs that came before. Puzzles and WPNZ already had their big send-off in WOTFI 2025, their story was WRITTEN to have ended with their sacrifice, they do not need any more story. Characters like Saiko and Kaizo, Tari, Melony, Bob, Swag and Chris, FM and X, SMG1 and SMG2, all deserved more screentime and focus but were practically forgotten about. Anyone who was fans of characters OUTSIDE of Puzzles and WPNZ is completely tired of how focused the series became on them, because it lasted for so much longer than just their arcs.

I've heard that one reason 1 & 2 don't get any screen time is because 2's VA (who also voiced Theo in Meta Runner) quit GLITCH after the whole Celeste (Former Tari VA) controversy. (I know what you're thinking, that makes no sense, and I agree, but it's the only one I heard.)

I had seen the screenshots myself for the og concepts of the game, and it looks very similar to the grabpack, which is why I choose to believe that. Besides, I'm sick of the mediocre writing from Poppy Playtime, and I've always found their minecraft animations to be way too overanimated. Them joining the SMG4 writing team is one of the reasons I hate them as well, because they had the same issue of not having looked at much previous SMG4 content as well, so there were many continuity errors as well. Zamination has given me absolutely no reasons to respect them or what they create, this Puzzles show included.

i also remember hearing that this is something that Netflix intentionally does, due to the fact that they're aware that a lot of people like to have a show on in the background while doing housework, while they're trying to sleep, or just be on their phones and have some noise on, so they wanna make it easy for those people to tune into what's going on at any point regardless of how much they were actually paying attention, but then that ruins it for everyone who doesn't like to do that. yeah, everyone's different in how they like to watch shows or videos, and its not wrong to want to just have some background noise on, but don't ruin how a show is written just to accommodate for people who actively choose not to pay attention to what they put on. if i want background noise that's not music, I'll usually put on a video essay or a casual letsplay (not podcasts or audio books tho I'm weirdly biased against them for myself) but even then it's just the personal choice that I've made.

i feel bad for also criticizing shows that aren't from the big streaming services and corporations, but this is a problem i also have with Inanimate Insanity, unfortunately. don't get me wrong i still really like the show, but i swear how the writing was for the last few episodes of season 2 and all of season 4 so far has felt like way too much tell and not enough show. the characters don't have to directly mention their problems and flaws every 5 minutes, they can just have problems and let us as the audience see it for ourselves how it plays out. it stops feeling clever and just feels like lazy writing to me, also because it makes me feel stupid. i know that these characters have their issues, stop mentioning it and let me actually witness it for myself.

Also the fact that it's just not how people talk irl?? like yeah i have some friends who joke about their issues as a coping mechanism but they usually don't do that just, to anyone they come across. a shows dialogue isn't meant to match real dialogue one-to-one, but remembering generally how real life people talk to one another is still an important reference to writing your characters' dialogue. like, the ideas are there, and i believe that, but the execution is also what matters or else the whole thing falls apart.
