as much as i love Daniel, i think his death was necessary and quite well written.
from a Buck/Daniel perspective, it’s even better. that scene was so damn emotional i don’t think we would’ve ever gotten to see Buck be vulnerable if the writers decided to have Daniel bring BB to him. this is literally peak Buck/Daniel content. The only thing i would say i wanted was for them to have a bit more dialogue.
and as for the idea that Buck should’ve held back and not shot him, i can understand that, and on some level i would’ve liked that, but i don’t think it’d be quite as meaningful. Daniel finally letting himself get put in harms way to protect BB was a good end to his story, and a good start to whatever it is they’re planning on doing with Buck.
and lastly, i really like that this show isn’t afraid to kill off characters. it makes it actually feel like there’s stakes. some shows like having these types of things happen but they never actually kill off characters, which makes it boring because you know nobody’s actually gonna die.
