With 10 grants totalling $650,000, we seek to uplift people and organizations working across art and design in the U.S. Five artists and designers telling stories in experimental ways will receive $30,000, and five small businesses focused on design — including one based in Brooklyn — will receive $100,000. With the support of @mobilemakers_chicago, each grant recipient will also receive personalized mentorship. “My hope is that grants like these are a step in the right direction to help uplift and support the people who need and desire it,” says @sirsargent (Antwaun Sargent), the creative chair of Black Visionaries. @sirsargent and a panel of prominent artists and designers will review the applications.
