Lucas Rose ( @itscharlierose​ ) a trans guy, decided that he wanted to feel represented in underwear ads. After all, plenty of transmen consume products such as Calvin Klein, yet we are not depicted in any of the ads.  As trans people we can no longer passively sit around as we are ignored. 

Our bodies are sexulized  and feticized, and we need to change that narrative. We exist and our existence is valid. Lucas’s willingness to share his body pre-op also is something we should discuss. A lot of transguys feel shame when topless, and we need to stop shaming people who are pre-op or do not choose surgery. The trans community is diverse, so our portrayals of our community should also have that diversity. Praising only post-op guys is just as disgusting as any other type of transphobia. I understand we all have physical goals in mind, but kindness and support are needed for everyone in the community not just those of one narrative.  Lastly, his story displays the strength and key role people of color play in our community. We can no longer ignore people of color as we push for equality and visibility. Please read his story and share it!
