(Consider this a basic description of the new base for all who are in Black Tabard. I decided to integrate it with one of Ten’s stories. )Â
Tendrokos walks slowly through the stronghold, his footsteps echoing throughout the quiet halls. All the rooms had been newly restored a few weeks ago when he found this place, and Fen made it the new headquarters once he told him about his new find.
To the left of the entrance was the stockroom, a small room surrounded by layers of shelves to store food an other necessities. It was closed by a big wooden door, reinforced with strips of metal. Currently, the stockroom was relatively empty give or take a few items Ten had to store.
To the right of the entrance was the armory, relatively the same size as the stockroom. But instead of shelves, the walls were lined with weapon racks and armor chests. In the middle of the room was a small grindstone. There was a similar door like the one on the stockroom, keeping it closed under lock if necessary.
Down the hall a bit was the bunk room, an open archway lead into this medium sized room. It has 4 bunk bed with a few foot chests and nightstands. All the beds were freshly made and were nicely folded, thanks to Ten's magic.
In the other hallway was a dining room roughly the same size as the bunk room. In the center was a long, rectangular table. I could host about ten or so people, four on the sides, and one on each end. On the table was nothing but three small candles adding some light to the room. Â Â Â Â
He threw his hood off as he walked past the steps to the basement, where the new dungeon/ torture chamber was built.
The basement was poorly lit, something he wanted in this room. In one corner, under the steps was a few small cells to hold prisoners. On the other side of the room was a few small tables used to hold poisons or torture tools. One of the walls was bare except a few chains coming out of the wall, used to hold prisoners in place. There was a big metal door at the top of the steps, with the ability to bold shut to keep unwanted screams quiet and escapes almost impossible. Â Â
His long blond hair would fall across his back and the nape of his neck. He sighs at the relief, having to wear that hood all the time got rather annoying. He stops at the lounge which was built at the base of the second set of steps, this time leading up to the second floor of the stronghold.
A small chandelier hung down from the vaulted ceiling, giving the lounge a light and calming look. It had a small table and chairs with a few shelves between the pathway leading to the steps. All of the stuff was recently well cleaned and refurbished. It surprised Tendrokos to find this place still full of furniture and even more so when he discovered that most of it was still in good condition.
He moves past the table, glancing at the empty shelves on the other side of him on his way to the stairwell. He moves gingerly up the step, making sure not to trip on his robe. He walks across the balcony, looking over to the lounge below him.
“Who ever built this place defiantly had the right idea.”
He moves up the ramp that leads to the main area of the second floor, The Counsel Room. The room was bigger than any other room in the stronghold. The ceiling rose high above him as he crossed the floor to the two small desks on each side of a small set of steps, leading up to a massive oak table. The table held four candelabras near each corner, illuminating tons of maps and scrolls of all the major cities, as well as areas and worlds.
He walks over to the empty desk on the left side of the room. He runs his hand along the front of it, feeling the old wood slide across his fingers. He pulls out the chair, glancing at the post running across the top. He smiles, knowing how he could use it. With a flick of his wrist he begins to write in midair as magic cuts into the wood, his finger flowing gracefully as he sketched in his name into the chair. He smiles at the finished product:
Since he found the place, might as well claim a desk.
With that, he sits at his new desk, giving his legs a rest. He pulls out all the recent letters and notes, placing them in some of the drawers. He snaps his fingers as an ink well, quill, and some sheets of parchment appear on the desk.
With that he would lean back in his chair, pulling out his pipe.
He began to clean it as he looked around at his new investment, thinking to himself.
"I could get use to a place like this."Â
