This is Dr. Shirley Jackson (1946-present) She is an American physicist who received her Ph.D from MIT in 1973. Becoming the first black woman to earn a doctorate in nuclear physics. She has loads of inventions under her belt already. She has created: portable fax, touch tone phone, caller ID, call waiting, solar cells, and the fiber optic cable. Shirley and her husband were named the inaugural class of Capital Region Philanthropy Hall of Fame.
