His morning jogs were usually enough to sate him, but the building heat of the summer sun meant that the beaches would be warm enough to play in--warm enough for melon smashing, or swimming, or shaved ice.
Things were still so new with L.L. again--it took weeks for them to start talking, and then picking up their relationship back where they left off. He felt very much like a dog with his tail between his legs.
He felt even more like a dog when he turned to L.L. and admitted sheepishly that he wanted a day at the beach with him--a chance to run on the sand with him again, even if he knew L.L. would more than likely be lounging.
Even so, he was utterly gleeful when L,.L. agreed, again, feeling like a dog getting pat on the head.
After a game of frisbee, followed by a game of volleyball, he returned to L.L.'s side again, eagerly grinning.
"Hey, wanna go swimming? The water looks pretty warm."
