Eden & #BlackCourser 🌑| The Redding expedition arrives at a distant star hosting three major bodies: a lone gas giant and two Earth-like planets that orbit each other, forming a binary system, or "double planet". The primary, Eden, is an untouched global rainforest. However, an atmospheric toxin renders it uninhabitable to humans. The smaller, secondary planet has a further-flung orbit that courses around Eden, passing often through its shadow. Although the air is breathable, there is no visible life. The rocky, infertile soil is laced with salts. The entire surface of Black Courser consists of cold, rigid peaks and valleys. Some rainfall occurs, but most water is collected in a single saltwater ocean that occupies a whole hemisphere. Colonists hope to find fresh water in underground aquifers.
